This was Rajini sir respect to KB sir, It was said in a interview by kavithalaya krishnan itself..

What nonsense? Kuselan brought profits to Kavithalaya. Also, even after that, Rajini has helped KB sir's family a lot. The whopping amount that he received for appearing on Man vs Wild was given to Kavithalaya too. This was made official by Kavithalaya on their Twitter channel. Even the losses incurred by the distributors in Kuselan was compensated by Rajini. Of course, Rajini didn't do Cheenikum. But, he told Balachander sir that he will do some other movie for him. But, KB sir was not willing to do it. N, it was for the sake of KB sir that Rajini did Kuselan n burnt his fingers. If Cheenikum's remake had become a flop, who will have borne the brunt of it? It wouldn't have been of any use to KB sir or anyone. That's why he thought Kamal was the right choice. Also, when Kavithalaya produced Raghavendra n it became a flop, Rajini did Velaikaran for them without getting a single penny as remuneration. From 80s till date he has been helping their family so much. Don't spew your hatred on Rajini under the pretext of empathizing with others. Rajini did Chandramukhi for Shivaji productions as they were in a financial crisis, without getting any money at all until it turned out to be a blockbuster n Prabhu paid him by himself. That's who Rajini is. He invested his own money in Arunachalam n Padayappa but gave away all the profits to all those producers n actors like Kalaignanam, VK Ramasamy, Pandari Bai, etc. who were in financial trouble.
