The whole "Illegals look just like you and me" joke was funny but legit, that episode made me almost cry, just the silent shot at the end of Mateo in the back of the car
@songbird64143 жыл бұрын
That was such a well done episode, especially the final chase. Everyone was so desperate to help him that Amy, a character who’s normally straight laced and rational, was willing to literally strip alongside a much younger coworker to help him escape. It was a character study alongside a well done episode. In short, this show is underrated.

imagine being so bad at writing that you still compare scandinavia to socialism.
@katy39013 жыл бұрын
Well if you don't want to call Nordic models socialist because they're too good, why don't you implement those policies?
@Elbereth_TV3 жыл бұрын
@@katy3901 i live in sweden, so i know these policies through and through, the scandinavian countries are all hyper capitalists with a generous safety net, but then we also pay a ludicrous amount of tax on everything, in america they whine that their gas prices are "skyrocketing", but you barely pay more for a gallon than we pay for a litre of gasoline, a burger meal at mcdonalds is less than half the price in the US etc, the problem isnt "why arent we adopting these policies" its "the people will literally burn this country to the ground before they pay even 10 cents more for anything"
@katy39013 жыл бұрын
@@Elbereth_TV Lol that's fair, I made a drunken mistake of being an eijit; I'm not American either and I do just find it funny when I see some right-wing Americans simultaneously calling higher taxes socialist, and not wanting to call Nordic countries socialist because of the high quality of life more than anything. Obviously not applicable to you, so I do apologise.

Yeah the writers of Superstore could make jokes and funny one-liners, but they couldn't do anything political at all correctly (or even subtle). Kinda sucks they had so many dodgy episodes due to their attempts.
@issecret12 жыл бұрын
They do that because that's what American politicians refer to as socialism. Paying taxes and having working healthcare

show is awesome but sometimes I feel this WOKE propaganda. praising socializm is dumb as f, just ask ppl in Wenezuela, Cuba or eastern Europe.
@caseys26983 жыл бұрын
Oh no, praising a system that doesn’t fundamentally exploit and nickel-and-dime people for their labor… You may not be making a claim as dumb as 0:53, but when you say shit like “WOKE propaganda”, misspell multiple words and leave a word out, you sure don’t sound much smarter. And cherry picking examples of places that struggle for various reasons and blaming it all on “socialism” is ridiculous. Conversely, there are hundreds of problems caused by capitalist countries that tie directly back to capitalism.

@howaboutno40023 жыл бұрын
@@caseys2698 if you think socialist countries haven't exploited the people for their labour, I think you're sorely missing some history lessons. That isn't exclusively a capitalist issue. And he's right about it being "woke propaganda". Considering the character who complained is essentially just a strawman of anything right-wing the show wants to criticise, then Garrett just making up random statements as if socialism inherently has those policies (and no negative ones) and it's a valid point. The show does not cover politics well when it's just *dumb person says simplistic right-wing statement nobody says* *Literally any other cast member retorts pointing out how stupid it is* *Everyone laughs*
