Supertramp's sound is all their own. It's Rock, it's Blues, it's Pop, it's Jazz and it's something unique in the middle of all of that. Two of the greatest albums of the 1970s are Supertramp's Crime Of The Century (from where this is from) and Even In The Quietest Moments, though they found their biggest success in the more commercial Breakfast In America. Definitely and band worth exploring.

The entire Crime Of The Century album is audio and musical gold. One of the best-made albums of the 70s. Supertramp had a unique trademark kinetic rhythmic-dynamic gradual buildup they used a lot (though not in this tune) and it never got old. Do the whole album or listen to a lot of them and you will know exactly what I mean.

"Bloody Well Right" was released as the B side of the "Dreamer" single, but it's really a response to the previous song on the album "School" - there's no gap between the songs on the album, the opening chord of "Bloody Well Right" could just as easily be the final chord of "School", and the first line is "So you think your schooling's phoney"

The album this came from, "Crime of the Century", is one my 5 favorite albums of all time. It is SO amazing and different than anything released before it or since. Incredible writing, musicianship, and it's production is almost as good as Steely Dan's "Aja". Every one of the 8 songs is gold, and they've got a guy who can throw in a few bars of sax or clarinet, or other woodwind or percussion instruments in just the right places to blow your mind. To me, it's like Dark Side of the Moon, cuz when it's finished, you feel like you've been taken on a trip, an experience a little dark but so musically unique, it will affect you for quite a while. Classic.

Although one might call Supertramp pop rock, but then again there are so many different terms. This song is maybe their most Hard rock.
