There have been a ton of false rumors in 2024 so keep in mind that the very few that I do cover usually are the ones that either make the most sense or are backed by some real info, but as for what I personally cover, I always try my best to get real information to base it on, like in this video, it comes straight from Nintendo and that is always the best way. Also, if you are a Nintendo KZbinr (there are a lot of them) and you feel “attacked” by what I said in this video, you honestly shouldn’t be, most people are aware that the majority of the time for daily Switch 2 videos there is nothing truly of consequence. However, if you are having success making content like this and getting views and subs, then keep on keeping on and enjoy, I honestly wish all content creators success. For me, after reviewing the past 3 months since the Foxconn leak for Switch 2, there really hasn’t been much true “news” about Switch 2 to share which has led me to just (like I always do) rely on my own research and findings for new content I find interesting. Just repeating what someone posts on a website and forum and making a full video on it simply doesn’t interest me, maybe back in the 2016 range for me it might have, but now? Not at all. It is what it is. Part of the fun of making content is being excited about…making content, and for me, I feel the need to have something more unique to my channel to share, but you know, that all could change with Switch 2 since new consoles bring new kinds of content. KZbin is always about evolution, just look at my videos from 2010 vs 2024 for proof lol.

I figured they would go this route from the second i heard of the Samsung express SD cards as i couldn't see Nintendo wanting a huge gap in performance between the internal UFS storage and a slow SD card.

I'm very interested to see if the leak of the bumper scroll wheel turns out to be true because more powerful is great but we've had the same controller layout on consoles for 2 generations now and I would like to see something new here even if it turns out to be a misstep especially from Nintendo as they will find a way to make it fun at the very least. And yes, it's just rumors but we shouldn't have to much longer before we know for sure as if Nintendo doesn't announce it, I bet it will leak from production. I will buy a Switch 2 for 1 or 2 reasons: 1: If it is backwards compatible. I will then play TOTK on it. Only did the first sky island part. When I landed on the ground and felt "I´ve been here before" I immediately dropped my joypad. 2: If/When they release another big Zelda game and the map is new! I do not want to explore the same map again.

Switch 2 seems like it will be exactly what you need. As you know, I'm a graphics guy (I mean look at my PC lol), but I see the benefit of Switch 2 having the potential to be amazing for Nintendo 1st party games. Imagine the next Zelda with the graphical detail of Horizon Zero Dawn or God of War 2018 but with Nintendo's craftmanship and art style? Even with PS4 Pro/Xbox Series S range of specs, Switch 2 could still produce games that look better than anything you've seen before due to that.

@@cannon2004 I think the telling element of the listing was the words “signal processing”; hardware and software aren’t necessarily as unrelated as you might imagine. Even if the Nintendo Super Switch is already done, there might be software work, or expansions to the existing system, or redesigns that they’re already working on. Ie: The Switch OLED may have used slight variations on a lot of components that they needed people on hand to design for, for instance. On top of that there might be slight revisions immediately after launch to close up anything like potential vulnerabilities that could lead to the device getting rooted (ie: like the original Switch), so they might be planning to have more designers on hand just for that. For a company the size of Nintendo, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have multiple people for each element of the hardware they design.

@@cannon2004 No, SD Extreme is a hardware protocol, but all hardware has drivers and software that’s needed to make it run. It’s not like you can just plug in an SD Extreme port to a device and it just works without any additional software work. It’s pretty understandable that the next Switch might just need more software work on that for some reason, and they need hardware and software specialists to talk to one another to solve it.

I think Digital Foundry did an estimated mini-PC build of the rumored specs back late last year or so. Switch 2 can potentially be around an RTX 3050 Laptop range of performance with some customizations and smaller node (4nm hopefully).

for me this kinda brings up the question about the cartridges themselves, in terms of technology and potential speeds. If the cartridges dont reach the internal speed either than it wont matter, only be a nice goodie for system updates, downloads etc. maybe the internal SSD isnt the benchmark??

To be honest, rather than expandable storage capacity I’d honestly prefer a RAM card 😅 A major problem with the original Switch was the memory capacity, which resulted in a lot of experiences being quite limited on the device. Even if the additional memory was slow, it would be preferable to what we actually ended up with. Obviously there’s not really any solution on the market for this to my knowledge (unless somebody has a CXL SD card for…Some…Reason…?) and it wouldn’t be the sort of thing that would be cheap, either, but it would be way more impactful than high speed storage in my opinion. I do acknowledge that the possibility of this is effectively zero, however.

You remember back in like 2018-2019 when Dave wasn't just sure of it, he 100% KNEW the "Switch PRO" was right around the corner. He was so arrogant with how he acted, like nobody could tell him any different, he'd make sure to shoot anyone and everyone down that tried to say anything about it not releasing. It was so bad that it just crawled under my skin, him knowing Nintendo was realeasing the pro and "having" undisputed proof. Then, it happened, or should I say didn't happen, there was no "Switch PRO". All the info Dave had was not 100% right like he "knew" it, instead it was all 100% wrong, all wrong. I was so happy when I heard that, I was so happy because finally that arrogant guy was put in his place. Oh, and also he said something back before he found out he was wrong, I can't remember what or how he said it but it implied that he'd have to apologize to everyone for being such a arrogant turd. So, when I knew he was wrong, I knew he was going to have to make and release a video about him being wrong. So that's what he did, and it was the best moment I have ever had watching this channel, it was so good it was actually soul healing for me. It was better then any high, better then any orgasm, better then any one thing, it was better then any several good things put together. If you was there, you'd know, if you weren't there, there is nothing me or anyone could say that would get you even a fraction of the way that me or anyone that actually was there felt, experiencing one of the greatest KZbin moments of all time.

They should work yes, but with newer standards, what they would likely do is have1 SD card slot support microSD and SD Express all in one, that's how it works normally with these plug-in play solutions like USB 3.2 being legacy compatible with USB 2.0. Hope that makes sense.

Basically it would mean that modern gaming standards for faster loading (the minimum these days is SATA SSDs at 500MB/s). Most new games **Require** an SSD, and HDD's are no longer as supported. Alan Wake 2, Indiana Jones the Great Circle and many others need that speed to load the heavy assets and size of the games to function at a rate you can play it at without constant loading and stuttering that would happen on a slow old hard drive. So the benefits you'd see for Switch 2 is parity of play and easier to port games from AAA Third Party.

r.e. the job posting though, would Nintendo be hiring someone at such a late of console development? Multiple previous reports have stated the console has been ready for a while, with Nintendo holding out for a more robust launch library. And with how deals for new consoles between companies and hardware vendors work, I don't think Nintendo would be making last minute changes the year before launch.
