Recently quit drinking and sent my resumes everywhere, I went from being an unemployed alcoholic to supervisor of a team of 5. 2/5 are old friends and the remaining are new to me, thus making my being an effective leader difficult. I'm unsure who thought a recently sober 25 year old would be the best fit for helping others attain employment, but I'm thankful for the opportunity. This video helped me in ways I hadn't considered.

One thing I always tell the guys on my crew "be hard to replace because if you're easy to replace then that's exactly what I'm going to do" remember it doesn't matter if you're at the bottom of the ladder or the top, success is up to you.

This video is very helpful even for those who are on the way. Displaying the right attitude keeps you in the conversation and that's the most important.

All these are great starters. Also knowing that some people can't be trained. As Ron White says= You Can't Fix Stupid.

This is very insightful. I need to work on my communication skills due to anxiety. But how do you deal w/ an employee that has signs of authority issue and doesn't recognize your leadership?
@jayemmanuelponce3409

You can resolve that issue with your employee once you have worked on your communication skills, but it’s due to social anxiety so, looks like you gotta fix that first. but what’s funny is one of the first steps to reduce social anxiety substantially is to work on your communication skills.

Are they factually stupid, or is it something else? Just because one has the interpretation of some one being stupid, it doesn't make it factual. I think it might be helpful to ask yourself the following: Are they trained well? Are they being appropriately compensated for the work they do? Is there enough staff available? Do the employees feel supported by management? Does management support them to the best of their ability? Does management demonstrate respect for the employees? If the answer is no to some or all of these, then maybe it's the company. If not, maybe it's the employees. However, it could be both. Change occurs when everyone is willing to do things differently.
