A friend of mine went to an Aussie bbq and thr person hosting called her a few days before and asked how many sausages she wanted on the bbq day, my friend said 2. Then while at the bbq she was still hungry so she asked if there is more but the Aussie mum said "no u told me 2 so theres not enough for everyone if you eat another".... as a lebo, when I was 7 years old I went to a aussie neighbours house, and my aussie friends mother gave her a freddo frog, and when I asked her for one she said she could not afford to give me one, I remember crying home to mum, and she gave me a whole bag of chocolate to eat. Spot the difference? Nothing has changed - Now my daughter notices the same cultural difference with her aussie friends families!!

That's true mate i'm filo, my brother's classmate asked him to swap his food to my brother's "Up and Go" because he said they can't afford it. That sad, is it because migrant people works harder? 😔
@lizzyallan96659 жыл бұрын
Juriasu Kun lebo greeks etc Asians migrant families are much much more kind hearted - my dear mother used to actually cook lebo food for all the hungry aussies kids in our street when I was little. - they all knew where to come!! I couldn't even get a glass of tap water from my aussie neighbours they were so mean spirited, sorry but that's the truth and apparently still is according to my daughter's experiences at school etc my daughter says a lot of aussie kids at her school are starving and nick off with her school lunches they can't believe how much food we pack for her - food means love in our culture.

i remember playing with my aussie mates at their house when one time while we was playing their mum called them for lunch and then she came to me and my brother and told us to go outside and wait at the gate while her kids have lunch inside. Couple years later we graduated high school and my mum made me & my brother lolly necklaces (about 20 each) until my mum saw that our aussie mates were standing there abit awkwardly because their mum rocked up to graduation with nothing for them, so my mum told me & my brother to “Take Some necklaces off and put them on your friends”. Their mum looked at my mum & my mum gave her the 🤙🏽 sign 😂😂😂

Looking at all the comments I mush have being the only Skip who grew up with a Mum (and Dad)who would cook what they thought we would need, then doubled it, then doubled again just to be on the safe side. I used to get mates asking to come around for dinner due to how good my parents were at cooking, and how much they cooked. My parents also had an obsession with Middle Eastern and Greek/Italian food so ate that a lot growing up.
