Such a powerful, eloquent review & what you’ve said about abusive men/rebuilding men & being broken down to one’s constituent parts also completely resonated with me as a gay man. I’m not sure if that makes me guilty of appropriating the specific female perspective of the subject or merely being able to identify the broader toxicity at hand. I'm glad you enjoyed it! For sure it's a broader toxicity, it's so tough that when we're the most vulnerable we tend to draw in people who are least good for us.

As somebody who's been to 7 different Secondary Schools (currently in Year 12) I can really sympathise with the difficulty of making new friends in new places. Even as someone who's generally been able to get through that process, it's still difficult having to start over.
