I enjoy watching your life, Colin. I share many of your feelings about life in the US versus Mexico. I was born in Argentina so a native Spanish speaker. I travel a lot and 2 years ago I was in your area of Oaxaca, spent a couple of nights in San Jose del Pacifico, hiked in the mountains a bit. Truly a beautiful and magical area. I've had a pretty adventurous life myself (I'm 67 now). I also settled down to raise a daughter and for many years now I live in the outskirts of Philadelphia. I'm a carpenter and handyman so I can relate to much of what you've done. I wish you and your family all the very best.

Hey man I just wanted to say hi and let you know that your son will thank you in the near future once he knows all the reasons why you wanted to move into another country i.e. Mexico and especially Oaxaca to have a truly great life with your wife and him. What makes me happy is to see other people enjoying their lives together in a different setting. Your mentality and adaptability is impressive and I’ll keep watching your growth and journey as life goes on in Oaxaca. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us. I wish you all the best!

My recommendation is don’t complain, a bout the stores been low on merchandise. Just be happy and enjoy the journey, you will feel free.ovoid any comments downgrade any thing. Is your choice to stay in small town,or come back, to the fantasy world,or go to city of Oaxaca , you find every thing there.

Hi there, I love your videos, I'm living the US but, I, also have my casita in a small community in México, and I go there for two months every year, "I little tip." Buy your vegetables at the tianguis. Find Out, when is the tianguis in your area, there is always one in Every town. must of the time weekends. (It might be different from town to town). Everything is cheaper and fresher. Is a farmers market. Also, ask locals where they buy groceries, locals know where is beter and cheaper. God bless, mabe one day I can camp in your tree houses. Saludos de una mexicana en USA. Desde mi huerto hasta Oaxaca ❤

Thanks you for the tip! There is a tianguis every Monday in the nearest town. I usually don't go because it is a mad house. This video was such a quick and relatively short run so we just did the quickest easiest. I'd love to have you visit some day. Thanks for watching :)

great little adventure... my Mexican girlfriend is named Vanessa also! well, its actually her middle name. her first name is Erika, but she goes by Vanessa. I almost never buy bread in Mexico. I hate the corporate fake bread and it's so expensive! I only had the Artesano one time and it is definitely better than the other factory made crap. thats one thing I miss about Canada is having craft style breads in the grocery store.

Just curious as an American, but is it legal to own a firearm in Mexico? Have you or your family ever felt unsafe? Seems pretty safe upon first impressions but you never know
@Gringooax
@Gringooax 8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question! It's a good one that I hear a lot. Owning a firearm is very regulated here. More hoops than I want to jump through to own one. You can buy one pretty easily on the black market, but the price is absurd. Someone wanted $1,500 for a small handgun...That's a lot of money here. For me it's not worth it or necessary.
