Nice, MS improvement... , the password was not written anywhere, now all along the organization have the token saved on some folder on their machines. As admin I can see all of them.

I will follow up should anyone find this helpful. I was doing all this from command line as I do most everything. I would recommend a few different things to try... 1. in windows credential manager delete any github entry 2. Make the entry... git config --global credential.helper wincred 3. Use git bash - not command line and repeat the steps Not sure at what point along this road it started working, but it did and I am thankful.

I figured out one solution to make it easier, you can just type git config credential.helper store before using token so that from next push in the same repo you don't need to type the same token again and again.
