I do like that the current character is objectively terrible- it makes for a fun story! And who knows, maybe the next one will be the exact opposite. Like a landless adventurer who is more focused on the learning contracts and tries for the roaming preacher decision, etc etc. I think that’s what makes this new DLC quite fun- it offers a lot of ways to play outside the typical army/combat expansion loop.

Yea character and their camp that is bassically just a walking library, going across the entire world to gqin knowledge. Like I imagine us starting in europe, going through it, down into Africa, then to the middle east, across south asia, across northern Asia and then back to Europe.

RE: Recruiting followers who cannot be commanders/knights (women, etc.) - as far as I can tell, there's no reason to limit your camp size (though I suppose it might eventually cause characters to leave, similar to a crowded court - but at ~50 characters or so it doesn't seem to happen.) Each one is a potential agent for schemes. Additionally, having non-combatants gives you people to pursue contracts *in addition* to any wars you might be fighting (so you don't have to worry about all of your agents being in your army and thus unavailable for schemes.) RE: Contract limits - It's not necessarily obvious - but you can pursue multiple contracts at once (though if you're traveling yourself you can't accept other travel-required contracts.) In particular, you can (sometimes) accept multiple combat contracts simultaneously, as long as they're distinct parties (i.e. you can't support both sides of a single conflict at once.) If you notice that e.g. a peasant revolt is popping up on the path to your opponent, it can be worthwhile to petition to assist the ruler and put the peasants down en-route with very little effort or risk. That said, there are some types of conflict contracts that don't let you take them when you've already got troops raised - it's not yet clear to me what the distinction is.

It might be worthwhile to complete some contracts in North Africa and then request a men-at-arms regiment from your patrons. There's a chance they'll give you powerful cultural units like the Mubarizun. Upgrading your Pavilion and Roaring Campfire increases the max number of men-at-arms regiments you can have in your army to make some space for new troops.

At the bottom of the schemes menue is a tick box to autofill agents, usually it does a good job.

@40:41 Ximena Íñiga Would approximately be pronounced "Hee-mena EEN-yee-gah" in English. X's in Spanish tend to be pronounced like light "J's" (Hence why Mexico is pronounced "Mejico" in Spanish) and for that doozy of a Basque last name, the accent on the I makes it the vowel you stress, and the "ñ" makes like a "nyuh/nyoh" sound in English depending on what follows it

That recap at the start was funny. An accomplished and selfish leader is great for a game, not so great for the rest of the world.
