I have the linen edition gentle tarot deck which came with tuck box plus a canvas bag. It is just perfect to use. I also bought a copy of the expanded guidebook. I have backed the ‘ my friend fire’ Kickstarter campaign as I love Mari’s work so much .Another aspect of Mari’s marketing genius is that she has arrangements with some of the UK ( and presumably other countries ‘) on line tarot shops so that we can purchase her decks without the massive cost of shipping from US to UK.

It’s so pretty!!! I love the thick matte card-stock she uses for the pocket and the first edition of the gentle tarot. It’s suits her artwork. Her decks definitely carry Alaskan energy. I assume Canada carries the same vibe. Thanks for sharing. In old traditional marseille they used to add a thin layer of soap 🧼 to laminate/ protect their tarot deck. I believe they use powder now. I found it extremely effective to use unscented plant based handcrafted soap 🧼 on any of my decks that tend to stick. It changed my life and the cards glide beautifully. Now I’m obsessed with thick 350/400gsm matte & rose petal finish. If you ever get bored definitely try it. 💯

I love Gentle Tarot and I'm so excited for My Friend Fire! Both editions are so special to me. Like you said, the original edition feels so luxe and comforting, but the linen is easy to work with and mine has held up well to a lot of shuffling. These days I tend to display my card of the month from the original edition in a stand and use the linen in spreads.

Thank you so much for spotlighting Mari's Kickstarter! =) I have all the other versions and especially treasure the mini since I have thumb joint issues. It has bling, high quality edging and a silky texture. I don't riffle, so the mini is easy for me to work with. Thank you also for mentioning the notebook format (blank on one side). This is perfect for journaling, adding another item to the wishlist! 🙂

I’m so delighted that you could share all this with us. I adore my linen gentle tarot. Such an incredible deck. I really want the Oracle companion, but can’t swing it rn. I’m so glad to see some of it here tho. Mari is a lovely person and has amazing work. I’ve had such a great experience with her and her products. If she did not offer the linen edition, I wouldn't have owned her Gentle tarot deck. I don't mind paying for expensive decks from time to time but I most definitely do not pay a lot of money for decks I can't comfortably use. I did try the mini but completely regretted buying it and resold it only after 2 weeks. As to the book, I really enjoy the small one but I did not benefit from the big one. It was the same kind of text just using a bit more words explaining the same thing. I resold the big book as well. At the moment I am very happy with the linen deck and the small book on my phone. 😊

Hi lisa, I was just wondering if you knew if the card stock to the first edition of the gentle tarot is the same or similar to Poppy Palin's everyday enchantment cards?

Hmm.. the finish is similar, but Everyday Enchantments is definitely more bendy - as would be expected of mass market card stock. Gentle Tarot indie edition is a classic 350gsm and gilded which does make for a stiffer shuffle... still the cards feel beautiful in hand.
