Nothing better than being happy with a choice that probably took a long time to make, and even longer waiting for it.

I'm the first to admit that I have almost zero practical suppressor experience, but I couldn't be happier with this can. I imagine I'll eventually transition it to be a dedicated 30 caliber can; it seems perfectly suited for a 300 BLK, 30-30 lever action, or a shorter .308. Definitely a bit of overkill for a 5.56.

@@76bishobi that's awesome! I got introduced to them last spring and they've been super helpful with a few purchases and doing my form 1 "other." When my bank account swells a bit I'll be paying them another visit for sure.

@@rjg02005 , Tom is the suppressor guru. He helped me pick mine out. I saw your video about the keymo vs Rearden. I currently have the keymo mount, only because my dead air muzzle device is pinned and welded. Now that it's registered as an SBR, I may have Swamp Yankee swap it out for a Rearden Atlas setup. I subscribed to your channel. Good videos 👍
@rjg020058 ай бұрын
@@76bishobi thanks for the sub. I really appreciate it. Tom is a good dude too! Dead Air does make it easy to pin and weld a muzzle device, and I haven't totally given up on KeyMo yet, but as I only have one suppressor, the Rearden is what I'm going with for now. I think the keymo might work better with a K can or something like a 9" 300blk where the weight isn't as far out on the barrel as on my 12.5".

Currently waiting on my enticer s. Nice video. question. Did you use the 556 end cap or was it a 30cal end cap while shooting.
@rjg020059 ай бұрын
That was the 30 cal endcap that came with the can. I've been told the 5.56 one might cut the sound down a bit, but I was very happy with the suppression on 5.56 and as it's going to be swapped with my 300 blk often, I'm probably not going to change it out.
@ajpeake98179 ай бұрын
@@rjg02005 I understand. I ordered a 556 end cap bc I don't have anything 30cal yet so I'll jus be using mine on my 556 rifle. ATF got my paper work in July 2023 so hopefully any month now. Looking foward to your next video.

@@ajpeake9817Thanks, I'm looking forward to my next range trip with it as well. Hope you get yours soon. I submitted my paperwork in early July, 2023. You do realize you don’t need to “time” muzzle devices like flash hiders anymore right? unless you’re doing it just for looks it’s not necessary
@rjg020058 ай бұрын
Some flash hiders like the A2 or the Rearden 3-prong in this video can be timed to direct gas away from going downward. This has practically zero effect on recoil, but can help keep dirt from being shot into the air while shooting prone. If you're not mounting a suppressor, timing is easily solved with a crush washer. If you're unconcerned with a small plume of dirt coming from under your muzzle, then timing doesn't matter apart from looks, like you said.
@rjg020058 ай бұрын
FYI: example of shooting from prone with an A2 flash hider. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWWZpmRppqednNksi=KoqC__t6zyhIEzmY&t=571 I was shooting on concrete and you can see some dust in the air. It's worse when shooting without a muzzle device or with a flash hider like the A1.

Do you use adjustable gas?
@rjg020059 ай бұрын
Fixed gas systems on both rifles. 12.5" is a standard carbine gas system (Geissele super gas block) and a standard weight buffer. (I have an H1 and H2 that I intended on testing that day but accidentally left at home.) The 20" is a milspec FSB with rifle buffer.

What size is your upper?
@rjg020057 ай бұрын
In this video I shot it on my 12.5" carbine length 5.56 and my rifle length 20" 5.56. I have a 16" .300 BLK that I haven't taken out yet. I'm mostly waiting on getting some more subsonic ammo to compare subs and supers out of that barrel length. Sadly I don't have a .300 BLK shorter than 16" at the moment.

They are expensive and hard to fine🤔
@rjg020057 ай бұрын
@@deanmicheljunioralexis2817 I've assembled all of my AR-type rifles, and all but the 20" (which came as a kit) were from components sourced from multiple manufacturers. It's not the cheapest option to order them a la carte, but I wanted to learn in the process. Not hard to find parts if you order online, but since the most recent AWB in CT most local shops don't carry parts anymore. They could still sell them, but business is way down.
