When you did the back pressure test was that all with the same caliber (556) I assume? Because if so I don’t think it’s a case of “their low back pressure technology working better” it’s just a case of shooting an oversized bore with the same caliber. (Example a OCL polo 30 exhibits less back pressure than a 556 polo on the same rifle).

I do enjoy your content and have learned a great deal of technical information from your reviews. Which leads me to my question. What exactly does "full auto rated" mean.? How is it determined? And with the number of "full auto" weapons actually registered in the country, does it really matter? I get that it's a selling point. Is there some industry standard that makes that determination? Is it a military standard? Thanks.
@Ertactical3 ай бұрын
good question and thank you! thats tuff cuz so many would respond in dif ways. it seems that each manufacture would say something different. IMO it means multi mags of full auto even tho i will never do that.... well i did something like that with the belt fed, but that was just to brake cans hahah
@spikymikie3 ай бұрын
@@Ertactical Thank you Rob. It sounds like there needs to be an industry standard of some kind. Ive been looking into getting my Form 7 and Form 2 to start making suppressors that us "poors" can afford , not unlike what Witt Machine does out of Texas. Not pretty, not real light, but something to save what little hearing I have left after 8 years of listening to F-4's taking off at full afterburner. I have watched and re-watched dozens of your videos to see all the unique designs. Thanks again!

Great video! Thank you for what you're doing! Their rimfire suppressor is only 2.5 ounces. That is just ridiculous. It's slightly larger in diameter and length than a Sparrow, and has a higher pitched tone. Not unpleasant, just different than the sparrow. Sound levels are comparable. I'm testing one of their long pattern 35cal suppressors this week on a 35 whelen, 358 Norma, a 338 RUM, a 19" 300 WSM, and a 16" 300BO, comparing performance to an Omega 36m. All of those are bolt guns. Something to note about the 35cal Anechoic is that they ship with a 1/2x28 DTA. Typical is 5/8-24 on everything above 6mm rifle, so that was a bit odd. I also run ASR mounts, and have other 5/8x24 HUB DTA's, so not a huge deal for me, but something others should know about. They may want to purchase an extra 5/8x24 DTA with this suppressor. The first 35cal can we received did not come with the spanner wrench either. Not sure if that was an oversight, or typical.

I have their .22LR can (A-22) It is super light and about an inch longer than my Outback II It is rated for up to 5.7x28 but I have only shot .22LR through it so far. It suppresses about as well as the Outback, but the down side is those mounting threads. (I think they are aluminum?) - If you do not take your time, it is pretty easy to get it cross-threaded, so go slow when screwing it on.
@BuckSteele003 ай бұрын
Hi 44Mag. The next generation of the X22 from Anechoic will have a Titanium Thread / Wrench interface on the rear, and still be under 3 ounces.

I want the absolute quietest suppressor for home defense in my master bedroom. I don't want subsonic, because I don't like the terminal ballistics of it. I wonder if there is nothing perfect you can get cause either way you are going to hear the boom of the supersonic ammo in a small space. For all that I just said, I went with a 12.5 inch 5.56 with a Radical firearms LS5 suppressor, with 77gr TMK...tell me if and how I am wrong?...don't care about back pressure as I only plan to shoot a couple of rounds at the most if I had to.

It is one thing to speak about the free flow nature of a silencer but no mention is made of the sound reduction penalty paid for the free flow factor. Any fool can make a loud, low back pressure silencer. Low back pressure is only impressive if the silencer can produce decent sound reduction. In the case of the 35 cal suppressor, the low back pressure is created by the giant bore, nothing else.
@Ertactical3 ай бұрын
could be, but we are finding low BP cans that are very quiet... like the HUX is low BP but not quiet.. now it seems you can have your cake and eat it.
@ExpatriotSilencers3 ай бұрын
@@Ertactical Do you have any examples of true low back pressure cans that are also quiet? And when you say they are quiet, what sort of dB reduction are you talking about? Are they at least hearing safe (
@ExpatriotSilencers3 ай бұрын
To be clear, IMO, anything that is not at least 140 dB or quieter at the muzzle, is not hearing safe and thus not quiet.
@ExpatriotSilencers3 ай бұрын
If we think of a silencer as a kinetic energy trap, there is no free lunch because the energy has to be contained in some manner and the easier the high pressure gas flows through the device, the louder it is going to be. Its just physics.

These seem interesting, but from a marketing perspective the name is terrible. Nobody is gonna be able to say or spell "Anechoic"
@Ertactical3 ай бұрын

@ExpatriotSilencers3 ай бұрын
Sorry Rob but I don't see anything interesting inside these silencers. The baffles are K-baffles done incorrectly. Clearly designed by someone who doesn't know how a K-baffle works. There is no bore asymmetry, which means a lot of sound reduction is being left on the table. Being outside the USA, the one thing I see about much of US silencer design is that it is terribly incestuous, with "designers" stealing from each other endlessly. There is simply not a lot of original design work being done. Improvements have become a matter of tweaking old designs. Hardly ground breaking stuff.
@Ertactical3 ай бұрын
interesting, I am not a guy who makes cans so i don't know much about the different types of baffles and who is knocking off who but there are a few things i find nifty about these cans. it is ok that you don't. we are def aloud to have dif protectives. but i do appreciate you sharing yours.
@ExpatriotSilencers3 ай бұрын
@@Ertactical Of course, I get it. My perspective comes from being involved in silencer R&D for nearly 20 years as well as sound testing them. I count myself as a bit of a student of the history of silencer technology. I also do not live in the USA and so have had access to some European designs that you simple cannot get hold of.
