It is such a better game to watch when Sharing is off. it really ups the stakes; you have to protect your Commander so much more. It makes people think twice before recklessly using them for sneaky tele snipes all the time too (although this game proves the opposite lol). Also I really like the after game recap and highlights reel @Gyle you should do this on all your casts.

they changed when the Ahwassas' bomb deals damage. it does a tiny amount of damage when it hits the ground, and the main damage when the visual explosion happens. compared to when it used to do all of the damage when it hits the ground, and the explosion effect happens after all the damage was applied. makes it look more accurate.

I think in the patch notes they claimed it was to balance the Ahwassa's ability to completely delete entire T3 land armies. Seems that's still very easy to do given its only like 1 second after it hits initially for it to do full damage.

Gyle even after you edited and went back, you still missed the fact that Willow didn't CTRL + K, he was sniped at the very end by a second nuke from Robort. Robort sent two nukes, one landed that you focused on, but the other kept going and got him at the very end right after Willow's teammate CTRL + K'd. I was hoping you'd zoom in on that because it was hilarious. Robort for MVP for sure.

Finaly a blue panties map cast. I know only idiots like dual gap and thats why i play only that. This is very short lived patch with tele billy (was online for like 1 day), when reading patchnotes i wondered wtf com can teleport and send billy nuke?? Is that a joke? When it was reverted patch notes said: "due to UNFORSEEN option where players could tele billy reverted"... btw Robort is ALWAYS going for telesnipe bullshits like this (usually with cybran lazer), so that is why he wrote that its hillarious and others were telling him that he is finally usefull in the game because usually dies during teleport bullshits

I think anyone could have seen what could happen when they changed it so you can both teleport and billy-nuke at the same time. Why the change was made in the first place is questionable at best.

Regarding the floating wrecks, I think it is quite possible for basically destroyed ships to still float as long as they weren't holed below the waterline. WW2 had a number of ships scuttled because they were inoperable and it wasn't feasible to tow them back while also needing to make sure the other side didn't think it was (or at least to make sure they didn't leave anything the other side could use).

From my understanding of shields and nukes, I believe that shields block the projectile portion of a billy nuke like a tac missile, but the tac nuke portion goes through the shield as nuke explosions can't quite block nuke AOE.

The billy can hit things in the water to a certain depth. The inner damage ring does 12,000 damage I believe.

Spoken like a true dirty cybran. They can tell with a mazer strapped to chest and need 10 pd to defend but a UEF tele that can be countered by 2-3 Tmd is broken. All the devs play cybran evidently. Lol

@@rme8554The difference is the range on the billy and the AOE. Can tele in and snipe from 5km away. At least with a Cybran tele-mazer, you have to be within comm attack range to do anything useful, and has 0 AOE.

I think the tactical nuke explosion ignores shields when applying damage. The impact point for the tactical nuke is ground zero, so mathematically, the developers will have a sphere radius for the explosion range. Then, they measure the distance to every object from the impact point, figure out the X/maxDistance, use that as an alpha value, and then apply linear interpolation to calculate final damage inflicted. There is no line trace from impact point to objects to see if it would intersect with a shield. This probably applies to ALL explosive damage, but you generally don't see it in action because there are so few sources of radial explosive damage with a radial distance big enough to see it happening.

I was perplexed by the targeting of the first nuke. Would have assumed the opposing navy force that bottled them up to be the primary target and it would be unable to stop the nuke and have big positive and lasting impact. Then use the teams navy to break through early.

33:24 definitely looks like aa intentional ctrl-k by pickupmaster trying to kill the SMD with the bomber wreck (using the bomb to time how much long he need to wait to wait before ctrl-k-ing), but he miss timed it. It can't be from bomb impact on shield - the bomb do a max damage of 11k, not nearly enough to down the nearly max HP experimental bomber with ~52k hp

If memory serves dont nukes detonate on contact with the shield but deal their damage through it? Otherwise you could permatank a Strat nuke with shield overlaps? They designed the Billy's damage fall off so it could erode but not instant pop a firebase bubble?

Fully agree that the Billy Nuke shouldn't be side-stepping shields like that. Shields protect from AoE from all the other types of explosions just fine.

Shields don't protect from nuclear explosion damage. Regular nukes ignore shields completely and hit the ground/target regardless of shield coverage. The Billy nuke is basically a tactical missile with a nuclear warhead, which means it will explode when it hits a shield bubble, but the damage it does ignores shields. A T3 shield has large enough radius to mostly protect the shield gen itself from a Billy nuke, only taking some damage. But if you have a unit close to the edge of a shield bubble and the Billy impacts the shield close to that unit or on the ground close to that unit, the shield won't help you because it doesn't block damage from nukes. Team 2 knew Team 1 was upgrading to a teleporting nuke ACU well before anything happened. Team 2 should've built tactical missile defenses. They had the time to do so. Nukes would be completely useless if shields blocked their damage. Apparently this is the case in SupCom 2 in which you can defend your base from nukes by building enough shields. This whole game was kind of odd as few players protected their ACUs properly and they also didn't react to any emerging threats to their ACUs. Maybe everyone is used to having full share on where losing one or two players in a 6 vs. 6 match doesn't matter that much.
