It sounds like you are referring to the j6 narrative rather than Colorado taking him off the ballot. If so, he wasn't trying to get congress to reverse anything. He was trying to use a constitutional method of requesting the vote to be sent back to the state when the validity of it is in question.

No. That's not accurate. Despite having national polls, we do not actually have a national election. We have an aggregation of local elections. In fact, each State's election is only the aggregation of each county's local election. All of these things add up to a different version of an outcome. For instance, you can vote for Sheriff and President on the same ballot, but obviously the Sheriff position in some county in some states will not rise through the ranks and become a national sheriff. Naturally that person is only counted in the votes local to their jurisdiction. As is the same with District Attorney, school board, and so on. So each election is held locally, but the outcomes of each local election can be represented in the locality or in the national. It's important to remember this.

@@Tomgreentek The Supreme Court Justices are not corrupt. They are ALL known experts in US Constitutional Law. More so, in fact, than almost all other lawyers in the United States. They know the US History and the Laws already made by other judges in the past, called Precedent Law. Both are very, very important to help them come to a verdict. These Justices do not operate on emotion but on the facts that are brought forward by the Prosecuting or Defense attorneys. It is normal for us as common citizens, to operate on emotion but they suppress that. They are protecting the US Constitution and the US Citizens. We may not agree with the outcome but it will be very carefully discussed and the outcome will in fact protect the US Constitution.

The state can establish rules, such as how many signatures it takes to get on the ballot and the state has the right not to allow unqualified candidates without recourse to be on the ballot. For instance, if a 25 year old or a non-birthright citizen wanted to run, the state doesn't have to put him or her on the ballot. In this case, there has been no conviction of insurrection so, at best, the state is jumping the gun. Even with a criminal conviction, though, the move would be dubious, at best. There is question as to whether a president can be charged with this crime, at the very least, without a successful impeachment and Senate conviction. Even still, 2/3 of Congress COULD vote to give him amnesty after the election, so he isn't legally disqualified from running.

The absolute worst person I ever served jury duty with was a criminal defense Attorney. He displayed a unique ability to turn something so simple and clear as the 14th amendment Section 3 into something as complicated as hell. A self executing amendment is the one that requires age, citizenship and birthplace, and a GOP will say it's NOT self executing. Even legislation cannot take away the ability of a qualifying requirement, no matter which court makes that statement OR in WHAT state. This guy's making a difference of holding or RUNNING FOR an office. He wants to pass the qualifying ingredient for making a ruling AFTER it leaves SCOTUS bench, thereby passing a decision onto the next level...that would be, to let congress decide but a magistrate is asking questions that make trump defenders find a justifying cause to PASS THIS CASE to Congress...but Congress puts it to a vote, yet a qualifying self-executing amendment will not be decided by CITIZENS, OR Congress, it's NOT the case, Congress VOTES, but congress CANNOT QUALIFY candidates.
