great playing, Nicki! i think my favorite setting would be neck pickup only/tone knob full/no piezo/flatwounds. i'd also like neck+piezo and middle+no piezo. i look forward to checking out your other content. :D

Based on your and Steve Cook's reviews, I got the Huntington II with piezo "for my GF" for Christmas. Wow... it's everything you said, tone-wise. She loves the short scale and I absolutely *love* the satin-finished neck... sooo fast! Thanks for the great review.

Awesome review. The variety of sounds is incredible and then add in the piezo. This is the bass I am looking for. It’s hard to find a Huntington right now though. It seems like everyone wants you to order one, however I would like to play it first. Thanks for a great demo.

OMG!!! I have been in love with this bass since the last (winter) NAMM. I played it for a good 20 minutes, but never got a chance to plug it into an amp. And now I want one even more!!! Hahaha!! Thanks for yet another awesome review, Nicki! 🤘🤘

I think you play so well.And I have been in love with these basses since day one.I wish I had an excuse to buy one but being in my mid 60s and feeling guilty about all my basses hanging on my wall it's hard to justify.My gigging days are behind me for the most part but I still play every day.God those are so nice.

Kev Mac thank you!! You know when I feel guilty like that, I just sell something I don’t use and then buy the new one I want. I works for the guilt factor! Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you enjoyed! Keep watching!

Stay Metal Ray LMAO! My friend DJ Amanda Jones calls me “Crazy Pants”! I love the studio! It’s a blessing. I’m glad you like it!! You should see my “bass-ment”. It’s a converted closet just for bass practice! I’ll send you a link to a tour of it if you want

That's a seriously nasty bass tone with everything rolled on. It'd make a total rock machine.
@jostonpowell13466 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it would be really good for alternative rock but nothing heavier. Has a really boomy sound like you mentioned in the review. But I like my Alex Webster Spector more but I play Death Metal type stuff personally. \m/

Joston Powell yep! Spector is the bomb! I’m gonna get him (Alex) on my channel. :)

The bass hanging on the wall beside the Rickenbacker, what is that? The body shape almost looks like a Chris Larkin Reacter.

There is Mitchell bass on either side. I have another video review of the Mitchell. One is FB700 and the other is a TB500. Check it out! They sound really good: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iofUqWx-h8R0j5Y

A good demo needs more than one riff to highlight an instruments full range. For instance, how well does the bass sustain?

Frederick W good point.

I really like the piezo pickup on top to just make the fuzz go balls out... Or no balls out in your case! LMAO It honestly sounds like a full length p/j base with that pickup too. I thought you were playing rhcp, but realized it was coming down the mountain.
@NickiTedesco4 жыл бұрын
hahaha! Yes bake out! haha. Yeah, what a different and unique tone this bass has!
@DrMackSplackem4 жыл бұрын
That was unexpected. I installed a piezo pickup under the bridge of my first guitar, and when I finally decided to build myself a bass I figured; hey why the hell not do the same? I know how to, and they're cheap enough. I associate under-bridge piezo pickups with note attack, and largely unwanted acoustical noise (belt buckle and whammy arm creaking, etc). I knew I only wanted one humbucking mag pickup, so the control choices were fairly easy, with a simple blend pot and a 3-way pickup selectable low-cut filter option for the tone control. However, I don't know how they are getting away with all passive circuitry going in to a single output. To blend a piezo pickup with magnetic coils traditionally means matching the different impedences (IOW, active circuitry). I might have to try to find a schematic for this one.

@@NickiTedesco Great! All I know about guitars, apart from being able to play and drafting body shapes, I learned from both my prior experience with audio circuit design and manufacture, plus the sheer resolve to just go and turn some piece of wood into mostly sawdust in an attempt to make the result appear and sound something close my original vision. Like doing anything worthwhile, you will fail at times, but it's been a fun ride, overall!
