SUR-RON TIRE UPGRADE, STOCK=SUCK

To anyone looking to run the stock tires for a bit, just don't run such low pressure and you'll be fine. I've tried running around 20psi and even with my 160 pound self I could feel/hear the rim bottoming on big hits. I keep my front tire around 24 and my rear around 27. I've got about 300 mostly trail miles on my stock tires and tubes and haven't had a single flat. I've been riding allot of gnarly trails too. Colorado is known for it's sharp rocks and I blast through rock gardens no problem.

Same here, stock tires are pretty good, especially for the weight and are street legal

Stock tires are CST. CST is Maxxis)) Maxxis Tyres and CST tires are a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheng Shin company.

most tire companies are owned by the a few conglomerates, they still produce different products for different market positions. Michelin for instance owns BFG, uniroyal, and at least one other.

I’ve had three flats so far and haven’t even had it a week. The stock tires are trash. And I would prefer tubeless. There’s no reason to run tubes on a bike like this. Just my $0.02.

Is there any rubbing with the maxxis up front? I read somewhere that they rub with the white RST Killah, not sure if the black ones are different.

@@xkpgx1687 Just installed the Maxxis on my Sur Ron and it does rub a little bit even after snipping off the little rubber pieces that come on new tires. Weird that it rubs on mine and not on yours and we have exactly the same fork. Going to try the Shinko 524 instead.
