Can't wait until these things are everywhere and way cheaper. We need recharge bike stations all over. Supermarkets should make garages for them, and storage spots for other things like eletric scooters and skateboards. Or just make them light enough to carry on our backs. They do have ones that compete with a 450. You can google it and find them--but they are 8k to 12k--but can go almost 100 mph.Red bull als had one compete with its dirt bike counterparts and it--the ebike actually did the course faster because of the instant torque.I am actually open to this.I drove a jaguar I-pace for a day and not only was it silent--but it was very fast--it was easily as fast as my 2020 KIA Stinger--which is one of the faster cars you can buy that is reasonably priced--plus electric motors are not as affected by drag--you can be going 60 mph and as soon as you hit the pedal it just accelerates--with no delay.I would say they are at least 5 years away from getting the batteries charging and range comparable to a gas engine.I went on a trip to the mountains and the red warning came on that I was at a range where there were no charging stations and had to cut my trip short--they do not have the range they advertise unless you baby these things.

Break Pads are pretty much the same across the board, the only difference between Shimano and Sur Ron stock break pads is when a Shimano Break Pad comes off the assembly line someone hits it with 1200 grit sand paper before packaging... save your money, there's plenty of mods you can do that don't involve wasting money on stuff you're going to wind up upgrading anyhow

ANYONE WHO GETS THIS MUST WEAR A FULL FACE HELMET this thing goes 50mph not just 45. It comes already unlocked with the speed. The brakes pads will be the first thing to go Seat feels great at first but after a long ride it hurts It can actually go about 60 miles if you go as slow as possible. Bassically the slower you go the farther you go. If you stay on full throttle it can kill the battery within the hour. From brooklyn to Manhattan it takes about 30% when going 30 to 50 mph Treat this as a real dirt bike because it is one. This thing is not a toy. Over all one of the best purchases i ever made. Do not get the pedal kit its cheap and can break easy and its overall not safe. The lights dont drain the battery at all. It actually charges a phone with its usb port in just 2% of battery. Its a really powerful battery If you go full throttle for a long time the battery gets hot. So dont be alarmed if it cant charge right away. Just let it cool down. The battery charges in about 2 hours or less DO NOT GET THE BELT UPGRADE. it breaks faster than the orginal setup and if you dont get the supermoto wheels(if you get the belt) you wont be able to go 50 mph with it This thing is a wheelie machine. Be really careful with the torque when in sport mode. Ease into the speed The stock tires arent bad they just wear fast Always turn off the breaker before charging and/or removing the battery Try not to leave the battery charging after it gets full Look up how to do a low voltage cut out if your chrager wont charge the battery after the battery has been fully depleted Always keep the battery charged atleast with 50% or more. Never store it with no battery in it for a long time This bike can ride in the rain but do not flood it Dont worry about the legal stuff. Every cop sees this as an electric bike before they can even tell what it really is. State troopers can give you an issue tho but they wont take it away or arrest you or ticket you. They will just tell you to not ride it on public roads.

Thanks for this brother. I live in nyc and travel from manhattan to the bronx for work. Do you recommend? The commute is about 22 miles back and forth. Can I pedal instead of throttling to save battery life?

@@TactileTherapy depending on how much you weigh you can do 22 miles no problem. I highly recommend it to anyone in nyc. Its the best commuter you can have. I would think about a couple of things tho. If you can buy another charger and keep it a work i would do so. Carry the charger with you where ever you go because it just takes an outlet to chagre. Over all tho you should be able to go to work and back without having to charge the battery at all. Jusy know that going full throttle is what kills the battery the fastest. The regen modes can help you but overall if you let off the throttle as much as you can youll save battery. You wont know the true range of your bike until you ride it because your weight. What you ride on and what kind of wheels you have play a big factor. For example when i first got the stock bike i was able to go from brooklyn to manhattan in 30% on full throttle. I installed new tires and heavy tubes which made the bike heavier and now it takes me 50% on full throttle but remeber im going 47mph on full throttle. If i go on eco mode and go slow i can make it to the city in 20% instead of 50%. It really all depends on how hard you use it but i would recommend it for anyone in nyc

Bought my son the x260 segway. Really fun but the range is around 20-25 miles riding fast/hard. Which is the only way to ride it if you want to have any fun. We had it for 2 days and sold it. Until they drastically improve the range it’s just not worth $5000. IMHO

It's just as likely to short out as any protected, water resistant electrical component in any other vehicle. Just like gas bikes, electric bikes may require maintenance. At the end of the day, there is so many moving parts on a gas motor, but you could count the amount of moving parts in an electric motor on one hand. Hub motors for example dont really have anything that can fail other than the bearing.

Once you pass 30mph the range DROPS dramatically. If you were to ride it flat out at 30 plus. You with get 13 to 18 miles. Depending on the grade you are riding on and YOUR WEIGHT head wind level. These are the major factors.

Why? Surron is a mountain bike and not a dirt bike. Not even close to a dirt bike. Surron is a big downhill mountain bike, it is no 4 stroke dirt bike. Its awesome for riding mountain bike type trails but in way does it compare to my 4 stroke husqvarna dirt bikes.

I have one of these, cost me around 4K but Ya know if you want it and can afford it, 100% go for it. It’s worth it. Just beware of cops. They don’t care tho. I’ve road past them and they don’t say a word. 😂 but I’m always safe when I’m riding. I am planning to buy Sur Ron but i have doubt about battery temperature as we all ride dirt bike to their limits so this electric version batteries will heat up a lot, its a most important critical factor but no video shows what exactly temperature behaviour of sur ron batteries in field, can you guyz show us, it would be so exciting to watch temperature behaviour of Sur Ron battery in action.

we live in the northeast it gets cold here. The cold will affect both power and range but it depends how cold. Above freezing and it doesn’t have much effect. Under 32 degrees F you would start to see power and range affected more potentially up to 20% less

If it was a but faster, and had way more range I'd buy it without a second thought. As is, the nami burn e2 max is faster, has more range, and is cheaper. Purely from a fun/commuting standpoint, obviously you can't hit the trails with the nami. It's just the fact that you can commute have fun and do it for a few cents per km is what I'm after, nami does it better for 30% cheaper.
