*Notes of this day* Asr also was used in old arabic for the time that has passed away.. so asr is the time that is padsing and you have a lil left of it and the time that has passed .. by combing these meanings .. it is a regret that uou have wasted a lot of time (passed away) and now there lil left .. so either you take advantage of that little time or you sit there hopleless cuz thier is a lik time left now *Oath is taken* Due to anger To testify what ur saying (like in a court) Or to make the audience believe in you when they are not ready to beleive what u r saying In the arab culture arabs used to take oath to get the attention of the audience (meaning when they had to make a huge announcement they would climb up a mountain and take an oath like i swear by the day which meant that tomorow morning somethings gonna happen ) so allah takes the oath of asar and gets our attention . Take use of this advice until its too late, until it becomes irrelevant cuz times passing.. its like a news alert Allah uses oath in quran to mentally prepare us or as an evidance meaning the next statemnt always has to do with the oath . So in this case the asr . Lack of time of time passing by has to do with the human being in loss. Cuz no matter how rich, poor, healthy, sick you are you cant jave more time .time same for all of us, its passing by,,the time that has passed will never come *Meaning of word khusr* -So the noun form of loss in arabic are khusr , khusran khasara.. khusran is the worst possible lost .. khasara is used when you are already in state of loss and it gets worse. Khusr (used in this ayat) is the base notion for loss.. which means that there are degrees of loss some loss is great some is not some loss is noticable and some not.. khusr can be any of the loss.. meaning tyat some people are in loss even if they dont notice . Some are in huge loss , some are in loss and its noticable,,so allah is making a comment that whoever you are you are experiencing loss at some level.. ofc the ultimate loss is of time but the loss is not limited to that -The khasir in arabic not just a loser but also a cheater . This word was used for those sellers who didn't give right amount of goods .. the used to cheat.. so khasir is a cheater too..khusr then also means that human being are being cheated . Or that human beings are in a scam.. Like humans think this world is everything and they try thier best to achieve this world but at the end .. its nothing.. we choose to stay in the comfortable'truth' and deceive ourself -al khasir is also used for someone whos lost thier mind as a result of loosing everything.. like when someone runs towards a building on fire .. the have lost thier mind..this will also be a scene on judgement day where people will loose hier mind cuz they will not be able to believe whats happening.. so in this ayah allah is also saying that human being runs towards the wrong thing -another meaning if 'for a buisness man to experience loss' for a buisness to collapse..the overall meaning is.. 'loss bit by bit' its actually similar to asr . Squeezing drip by drip -qurans commentary on loss is to actually miss an opportunity that you could've taken advantage of *Allah awakes the reader of quran to reality by* -history and time (meaning tyat he wants us to look at the history and learn from peoples mistake and to look ant those who have succeedED and learn from them, by actually studing humanities (arts, physiology, history etc) we r actually studing islam.. its needed and gives yiu a broader perspective of quran.. also science etc) -he wants us to look at our surroundings (he tells us to look at the earth differentlu ,the skies differently, the water etc)by doing so we acknowledge allah and also his mercy and love for us -allahs own words..(they change our prespective, they insipire us) So whenever we study history it gives us a insight of the verse two of surah asr * 4 catogories in exception* //Vision// We have to look at these four catogories from mind and from the heart too// cuz shaitan believed allah existed he had seen him he had seen hell and heaven but if the faith is not in our hearts yet then we should really reflect and work for it..//the people who accept islam cuz of logics and proofs then the emaan has enetered thier minds, they know now that allah exist etc but the shaitaan knew it too so they also must accept the islam fron thier heart too.there are peeps who are not logical and so they accept islam by listening to one ayah and they start crying and the faith enters thier heart so they accept islam , and the faith if heart is greater and more strong then the faith of mind . Si we should have faith in our minds as well as hearts , building our emaan intellectualy is one journey and builidng our emaan spiritually is another jouney and they both are very different to each other and both are important --- those who believed: +We can use it as a present word but we can also see as why its used as the past sentence (beleivED) .cuz if we do qnna become those who belive we will look at our role models from the past. Whose who the quran has declared to be successful. Just like surah fatihah . We will look at those who believed to become the one who believes. +Amano means to give peace in arabic . Allah gives peace to the ones that have emaan and so the ones that are not loss in loss are the ones that are secured by the emaan +The other meaning of emaan is to belive in something, to rely on something, to be convinced of something.. emaan is described in quran as light and light lit itself and lit the things around it alazina amano means: +Those who felt save +Those who made other safe +Those who were secure . The intellectual emaan can be satistfied and completed , like you believe theirr is one god withiut any doubt you believe quran is the word of allah .. but that doesn't means our faith is complete cuz spiritual emaan has to be hit hard and then again and again..its something we have to keep working for , thats the only way it will stay alive, emaan is supposed to give peace so we as muslims should give others peace and not judgment *Meaning of amal عمل* _There are three words for doing in arabic_ -suna- doing something with hardwork (crafting something) -fa'al- doing something without any intetion which is easy as compared to suna(blinking , breathing etc) -amal- this word is used in this verse it means doing something with intention and it is easy as compared to suna its (eg walking towards a masjid) *meaning of salih* -salih means fixing something that was broken or fixing . -the trranslation usually is those who do GOOD deeds but salih doesnt mean good it means fixing or making soemthing good. so by doing salih amal we actually fix our self we make our self better day by day -the word salih is actuualy transitive and intransitive so when we do salih amal we are not actually fixing our self but actually doing the things that fixes others , our surroundings -the alif and ta in as salihat ( and and t) actuually are illusion to jamu qila which indicates some or handfull of good deeds so allah is saying there are some handsfull good deeds that you are asked to do , not that many , not thousand or millions. just some basic good deeds

36:39 1. I love studying humanities but the problem (especially in college) is that the information they provide is so littered with liberal and secular garbage. They take shots at religion and selectively use humanities to promote/defend liberalism, secularism, and feminism. 2. You shouldn’t study a humanities in college. It’s not a skill or a trade - meaning you can easily find the information outside of school. Just study it on your own time without any bias or use the classes as electives.
