The surah that proclaims God to be the Lord of the heavenly ascents, Lofty Stations, the points of rising from which the angels ascend to God. It takes is named after the phrase “of lofty stations” (dhi al-maʿārij). Please watch to see the beauty of this surah.

Asaalm Alaikum at 4:00+, I think the 50,000 years mentioned here is not referring to the day of judgment specifically but rather it refers more to a measure of time by which it takes the angels to ascend to the realm of Allah through the heavens using the special stairways. This now when related to the question the disbeliever asked about when the torment will come, gives more gravity to what the disbeliever may have seen to be far away, rather now much nearer than he may have initially envisaged .
