Great music. I'm a Hammond organist as well, playing in several churches across this country. I spent 10 yrs playing organ in a church that ran 6000 on Sunday morning.

My, this took me back to my childhood. As we arrived to attend church the church organist would play triumphant hymns. As I became a teenager the organist insisted that I play the prelude Sunday nights. I began to love being in my own world at the organ pumping out my favorite hymns.I often wondered if I slipped in a Beatles song if the old timers would notice. How I cherished my early days in Morgan Hill, CA. Every one should be so blessed to grow up in this idyllic manner and be loved and cared for by my precious parents and all of the folks at church. I learned so much from all of them. ❤

Played organ for my church for almost 40 years. Didn't do very often but lived doing duets with the church pianist. Loved the sound on this organ.

What’s bad is it’s a dying breed of people who enjoy this great instrument. The church I grew up in had organ and piano at every service. But after marriage and moving, we starting attending a Baptist church and later became members. We had a wonderful grand piano and a digital keyboard that would play really any instrument. And there sat the organ. I asked one day if it worked and was told yes but the pedal board needed to be reattached. Well I did so and went and practiced with the pianist several times. Both agreed it was great. She however was not full time pianist and a few weeks later, went to church Sunday morning to find the organ gone. Worship leader said he hated the organ and had the church get rid of it. We are now 99% contemporary worship now. Which is fine, but I get my organ fix on KZbin as well the old hymns.

Is Bro Elmo still alive or has he graduated to his eternal reward? I met him in the 60's through his dear sweet niece Jonnye Rankin; his pianistic gift was so great!
