Well people eat them all the time the ones we catch near shore is some what safe.. The ones offshore are the ones to worry about..

Was wondering the same thing? I personally don't keep any barracuda over 15lbs cause of the cigueterra situation, and I'm in St. Lucia where we haven't had any known cases. But can't be too careful. But I nice couple of fish there regardless. That Barra give a nice, healthy fight!!!
