Surf Fishing For Fluke on Jersey Shore 2024

It's already in the middle of the Fluking Season and we were not able to fish for Fluke like the way it used to be due to having two German Shepherd Puppies (GSD) that need too much attention and are not allowed to the beach where we usually fish.

If it's close, you need to measure with the fish on the tape. Putting the tape on top will not be as accurate. Nice catch.

That's right but in my case, it doesn't matter as long as it is obviously over 18" then it is keeper size. If it is exactly 18" then it is a different story.

​@@ejoutdoorpinoystyle473that was not an obvious 18inches, u either measure it correctly or you don't. Putting it on top of fish clearly adds to length and that fish barely made 18 inches that way.

Nice fish! What size jig head were you using?

@@ethelcain-hailmother It depends on the wind directions, and how strong it is blowing. You will know when you cast it if you need adjust for lighter or heavier jig. Always make sure your jig is within your rod specifications so you can feel its action.
