They sit around living on passive income half drunk with nothing better to do then weaponize law enforcement on the peasants to serve there lordly desires. One of my favorite stories was a county sheriff that met us back at my truck to apologize and complain how he hated that F B and wished she would stop calling him. Over the years, I got to know this guy pretty good. After a while he stopped searching my pockets for lint and I would joke about working class solidarity against the NIMBY. Always bring license and valid measuring device when fishing. Also a printed page or booklet that has all the lengths and bag limits, season closures etc. Here in Florida I learned that lesson P.D.Q. Never broke the law, but after a few checks by officers I did a deep read on our state's fishing laws and always came to the venue prepared for visits from Fish & Game. See same situation obtains in Cali. Called in? Most likely residents that resent fisherman presence on their turf/ backyard. Always leave venue as found; leave no trash behind. Here in Florida "the people" own the beach to the high water line. Problem in most areas anymore is access.

Fishing always requires a valid license. Whether you are actually catching anything, or keeping any fish or not. And California has a specific value for each species of fish that belong to their great state. (And they are very proud of them!). So, keep an eye on the date of expiration on your license (1 year from date of purchase) or things can get very ugly. I had my experience with them way back in 1989 and it has made a life long believer in me ever since. (And my officers were pretty cool in the end. Just doing their jobs.)

Odds are, FnG was in the area and just happened to see you from the road and decided to check you, especially since they really don’t have much to do 😅 Most are pretty regular guys and gals, but few can have an attitude. They live out of their binoculars btw… makes it easier to observe potential law and code violations from a distance. My buddy got popped once fishing without a license and got a $275 fine. They watched him with binoculars and as soon as his line hit the water, they were on him. Good fishing video. Looks like you have a few good spots. @HookGuru4 жыл бұрын
The high low is a good setup - I suggest you use a 2oz pyramid sinker as the pyramid sinkers stay better in the surf (compared to round sinkers). I try to cast out about 20 yards in the water. Wait a couple minutes and reel in - wait again. Been using sandcrabs (aka sand fleas) as my bait, but in winter they are not always easy to find - so Berkley sandworm is a good alternative. If the spot doesn't produce - try moving down the beach 30 yards and try again. Once you find a spot where you catch, most likely there will be many more. Don't get discourage - perch are fun to catch - keep practicing. Once you catch perch - you can start targeting corbinas, sharks, and the ultimate catch from the shore - a legal halibut :)

I’m pretty new too, but have been going with my neighbor who has a lot of experience and we’ve been using squid on 2 hooks with a steel lead and pyramid sinker. So far I’ve caught mostly croakers and small leopard sharks. Also some stingrays and shovel nose rays. I’d highly recommend squid for bait, especially if you’re fishing after dark.

Why did they want to know how long he has been out there and if hes fished there before? Someone should hold a fishing event outhere to piss off the locals.

That's a homeowner call dude. Lmao I deal with that here where I'm to the south of you too. We only have one "Warden" who is a super good guy that tells me when he gets complaint calls.. most residents know, they just do it to flex and harrass and think they own more of what's behind their backyard than the public does because they spent 12M + on the front row.

Doing there job....personally I don't like it when officer has hand on gun

Always carry your license. Southern California is short handed with fish and wild life wardens so it’s a good thing they show up. We have lots of knuckle heads sorry to say it but most are Asians or south Americans who are poaching.

Local resident called. They deemed you fishing there is not a pleasing sight to them, even though it’s a public beach. They want you to out of their sight or view from their beach house window, if they can find any excuses. Law enforcement showed up, they have to act if someone calls in, but as long as you have your license and permit, it’s totally legal to fish on the beach.

I get approached by game wardens at least when i expected. I'll be surf fishing and game wardens pop out of nowhere. Game wardens are like ninjas knowing the fisherman's blind spots when they approach. Other and that, GWs have been cool with me and just checking to see if i have my fishing license.

That was for the teenagers riding dirt bikes in the riverbed, you know, swat, k-9 tactical unit for extraction & helicopter so they can't get away. 😊

Why do you use two different reels for casting Luckycraft and sandworms?
@HookGuru4 жыл бұрын
I like the baitcaster for casting Luckycraft because you are constantly casting and retrieving. It feels more accurate to where I want to cast. The spinning with sandworms - you cast and wait. Both can be used vise versa - more of a preference.

Are people allowed to fish in that area? 🤔

There are a lot of idiots in So. Cal. Some think you are in a santuary, some say you can't keep fish, some just don't want people fishing.
