Update: Tuesday 4-19-2022 overcast low clouds morning afternoon mostly sunny, some haze, a few passing high clouds.
Air temp low 57, afternoon high 66 briefly.
Wind started calm to variable light onshore early, sunrise 6:17am increasing W onshore 11 -14mph peaking 5pm, sunset 7:26pm.
Surf still small early, slight increase SSW late morning, but wind gets on it combining WNW wind swell slight increase. 2 to 3 foot faces, but poor with lack of swell and wind chop.
Best time mid late morning with tide push.
Low tide 6:04am -0.8, high tide 12:23pm 3.4, low tide 5:12pm 1.8, high tide 11:27pm 5.6
Water 59 degrees holding.
Weather tomorrow some increasing clouds, a little cooler and breezy.
Surf slight increase but not much.
The SSW swell 195-210 direction in Huntington Beach area seems to be a little shadow blocked by Catalina and San Clemente Islands at this time?
Update: Wednesday 4-20-2022 mostly cloudy occasional sun mostly afternoon for periods of time
Air temp low 56, high 65
Wind light onshore SSE early, sunrise 6:16am slowly increasing turning S SW WSW 12 mph peaking 4pm. Sunset 7:27pm.
Surf a little bit of WNW wind swell, and slight increase SW swell combined 2 to 3 mostly with 4 foot wave faces on inconsistent sets.
Shape is scrappy poor from S wind with short quick ride sections.
Water holding 59 degrees.
Low tide 7:06 -0.7, high tide 1:45pm 3.1, low tide 5:51pm 2.3
Weather more of the same Thursday with more thicker clouds forming evening.
Surf about the same Thursday, maybe slight increase SW and WNW wind swell?
Conditions not the best though with some onshore wind flow..
Update: Thursday 4-21-2022 mostly clear early to partly cloudy.

Wind slight onshore variable early sunrise 6:15am slowly increasing through morning, then increasing through afternoon W 12-15 mph peaking 5pm, sunset 7:28pm.
Surf mostly WNW wind swell, very small SSW 2 to 3 occasional 4 quick mushy sections.
Water 58 degrees slight drop.
Low tide 8:21am -0.5, high tide 3:41pm 3 feet.
Weather tonight increasing clouds with chance of rain through Friday morning..
Surf some increase tomorrow WNW from weak storm front moving through morning, conditions may clean up a little late morning, for sure Saturday morning, leftover swell from WNW..
Update: Friday 4-22-2022 early morning rain showers ending, clearing through afternoon.
Air temp low 55, high 64 briefly.
Wind onshore W 8-10mph sunrise 6:14am increasing 18-25 mph peaking 5pm. Sunset 7:29pm
Surf increasing WNW wind swell morning, some longer period WNW afternoon, but very choppy!
A few afternoon waves on South Side rideable with some side current and choppy best bet, 4 to 6 foot wave faces, a few 7 racking pier Northside.
Water 58 degrees.
Low tide 9:45am -0.4 high tide 5:25pm 3.3, low tide 9:03pm 2.9
Weather nicer and warmer starting Tomorrow, Sunday even better!
Surf peaking tonight, but early Saturday is your best chance for smoother conditions..
Update: Saturday 4-23-2022 clear skies today sunny.
Air temp low 54, high 67.
Wind light offshore NE early sunrise 6:13am turning light onshore past 9am then afternoon steady increase W onshore 12-17mph peaking 4pm. Sunset 7:29pm
Surf WNW wind with a little longer period swell peaked last night, combined with small SSW holding.
Biggest early 4 to 6 max 7 foot wave faces with fairly good shape.
A little bit of current N to S.
Waves decrease slowly through afternoon with increasing wind chop!
Water 57.5
Low tide 11:03am -0.4, high tide 6:18pm 3.7.
Weather warms up tomorrow Sunday less windy low to mid 70’s.
Surf drops a bit but still 3 to 4 occasional 5 WNW and SSW..
Update: Sunday 4-24-2022 light haze early morning sunrise 6:11am.
Air temp low 55, high 80.
Wind starts light ESE side offshore, then turns offshore NE 8mph past 8am clearing skies and warming temperatures. Wind turns back onshore past 2pm and peaks W variable at times 15 mph 4pm sunset 7:30pm.
Surf WNW short period leftover holding, SSW slight increase fair shape with very good conditions until about 2pm.
Water 57.5 expected to go up a little next few days.
High tide 4:34am 4.5, low tide 12:05pm -0.5, high tide 6:53pm 4.1
Weather still nice tomorrow Monday a few degrees cooler.
Surf about the same mostly SSW holding, small blend WNW wind swell.

Yes Oliver La Niña not helping, also in between winter and summer, although I remember a few big SSW swells that can happen starting around now..
