I too know the feeling of being hit by a wave and then the disappointment of falling off. If I stay on, I feel very happy. If I can ram the wave and get thru, I feel even more happier. The "timing" part with approaching the wave, is such a hard part at times (or should I say my "guessing"/overestimating my ability to stay on the ski before the white water hits. I am learning. Nice training session. Ins and outs are so exhausting for me. Everyone looks fit. The paddler in the green top is my fav. He looks very experienced and has similar paddling style to a person I paddle with. To the non-paddler, spec skis are hard to balance on but they are fun.
