Fun fact: the surf music used in the opening of Gold and Silver isn’t this theme, but the original Kanto surf music.

In spite of the fact that the Gen III version is the most memorable (though, then again, Hoenn is like, what? 1/3rd water?), the Johto theme shall always in my heart be my favorite. And 7GamerMinutesDX: were is the HG/SS version of this? I couldn't find it in your uploads.

HGSS overdid it with its rendition of this one. The original is perfect.

You're right. This soundtrack made fighting all of the level 20 magikarps worthwhile to get to the caves.
