@@Unknownuser0023 I think the first consideration is your budget and second is how often you will be moving around and hauling the device. The Surface Laptop 3 tends to give more power and versatility where the Surface Laptop Go is the best for overall portability. Additionally, sales prices can really change things when both these devices are priced similarly I would opt for the Surface Laptop 3! Hope that helps.

Do you think the Surface go could run light games like CSGO or Minecraft, I am thinking about getting it over the Surface Laptop 3 because it is way cheaper and I don't do heavy gaming

Surface Laptop Go will definitely run both those titles, I think as long as you are willing to work with the settings and maybe accept lower frame rates or lower resolution you will be fine !

Hey I honestly don't know anything about the HP Pavilion. But considering the Surface choices only I would say consider either the Surface Laptop 3 (or 4) and thats because you will probably see better results in your work. I like Surface Laptop Go but for the higher end tasks you will benefit for the higher end specs. Hope that helps!

You mentioned the surface laptop 3 has been around for a while so it's on sale. Is it on sale via the Microsoft shop or others? I'm in Ireland. We seem to have to spend much more on laptops than in the US.

Hey - yes the video is from US perspective , it tends to go on sale on the Microsoft Site and then Best Buy and other retailers. I’m not sure your options but the Surface Laptop 3 is due for a refresh this year and so you might be able to find it on sale. Hope that helps.

You can probably manage it but will probably have to rely on some sort of external storage, specifically for larger video editing projects. Just a reminder to note that the Windows 10 installation can take up a bunch of space leaving you with 80gb to 90gb to work with (depending on the settings, updates, etc). hope that helps.

Hi, I just found your channel as I was searching for this specific review. I was planning on replacing my current work laptop and really found this review enlightening. However, I’m still on the fence about which one to choose. I usually use excel, word, PowerPoint and Adobe reader as my main apps for work. I occasionally use Spotify on the background and zoom or google meet from time to time, and I also have my iPad Pro for artistic and editing purposes. So I just wanted to ask for your opinion on which one is better to get. The backlight is kind of important for me, but I’m not sure if it’s that necessary for my type of work. Hoping for your response! :)

Hey thanks for watching, glad you found the video helpful. Just considering your specific needs, I think either Laptop would manage the workload adequately, so there is no best right out of the gate for the tasks. However, if you are planning to be pushing out a lot of productivity on say some excel sheets, there could be value in the larger 13.5 inch display when you have to look at things side by side. I can see why this would be a tough decision as there is no standout spec for your needs, but if you do like the backlit keys, maybe thats the final push. Hope that helps a bit more to find the perfect fit.

Nice video! Would you happen to know : How would the surface laptop go fare with virtualization (VMware and virtual box)? Is there an advantage to getting the laptop 3 for that purpose?

I would not expect much from the Go on that, any VMs are going to be taxing and I think the Laptop 3 is a better fit for something like that. Surface Laptop 3 is geared towards those more advanced tasks. One might be able to get away using a Surface Laptop Go but it might not be optimal. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

I think right now for intel depends on if you can find the Surface Laptop 3 on sale and how much you save compared to the new version. The only other consideration is if you are interested in AMD the Surface Laptop 4 is really your only choice. Hope that helps.

Great video. I’m a writer-only use laptop for Word and web browsing. I’m looking for a Windows laptop with the sturdy durability of a MacBook. These look pretty even for my needs. Would you recommend just going with the cheaper of the two?

I think the Surface Laptop Go could fit your needs really well as you have another machine to rely on for the more intensive tasks if needed. Also the GO can save you some money as well if you do not need the extra power of the Surface Laptop 3, hope that helps!

this is a tough question because I will assume one laptop has a warranty and the other doesn’t. Electronics are very reliable for the most part, but there is always a bit concern when you don’t know the history of the device, hope that helps.

This comparison is exactly where I am right now. I think I have decided to go with the 3 and not the Go, as I'm selling my original Surface Go and going proper laptop. Added bonus, (and a deal breaker for some), the Surface Laptop Go does not have a backlit keyboard. Even the top tier one for $899! Not acceptable for that price. Sorry Microsoft. I'm going with the Laptop 3 refurbished for around $600. Great comparison !
