I've found that yellas around the size of the 1st one you caught tend to hang out in pairs, I couldn't count the amount of times I've caught 2 from one snag! Pass my congratulations onto Holly for her first cod off the top, that's an unbelievable feeling I bet she loved it. Congrats to you as well for your first yella off the top! It never ceases to amaze me how they come out of nowhere in 1 foot of water haha!

Great stuff Holly well done. The relationship with you and your daughter is so amazing always makes me smile. I went to Murchison last night for a fish used cheese not even one bite. Then I got some shrimp and it was game on 15 cod biggest 97cm and 3 yellow belly one came home with me for tea tonight was bloody beautiful

Thanks buddy. Almost identical story to us on the Ovens last night. Nothing on cheese. Caught some shrimp, then a few nice bites and a decent yella all on shrimp. Holly caught the yella and I ate it for tea tonight. LOL 97cm is a massive cod mate, well done.

Hi mate, you can fish with lures anywhere on the Ovens. Whether your chasing trout in the headwaters or cod in the lower reaches, the whole river is fishable with lures. 👍👍
