Yeah , I agree Man normally holds in their pain , their emotion , forcefully keep it hidden and on the surface you will see that he is fine but no one knows how much psychological and mental pressure he currently carrying and When that man has a responsibility of his family than you will find him sacrificing everything and even work extra hours tire himself out physically and mentally but still when he comes home , he still give time to his family with a happy face and when he let all this pent up frustration lose , when he is at the breaking point and cant handle anything anymore which is quite sad

This is how I interpret this song. It has 2 meaning for me : one for myself and one common i.e. many can unanimously agree on. I'll share both: 1.the common one is: heartbreak. I look at the relationship between the boy (actual singer in context of music as 'you' or me') as an unrequited and one sided love . Where the girl (person the artist was close with, in' your 'case a person you cherished) who, obviously holds an important position in his life but she doesn't look at him in that way. That's why he says 'you decide whether I'm worth it ' becoz the girl is his close confidante she has seen some of his genuine and unguarded moments. Also the inital part of ' I'm crying at the balcony and while you try to talk me down' represents the guy going through a conflict due to polarising emotion and a bad past and he is contemplating a step of no return which can both mean mentally or physically and the girl is trying to convince him (ashmita here thought of as in trying to insult him further but I think she is trying to help him) because the next line says 'I am defiant to your charity' meaning he doesn't want her to have pity for him that's not why he chose to be vulnerable to her He doesn't want her mercy. Then they're multiple beautiful poetic lines that convey his struggle in the form of imagery and metaphors ' pull me to the surface , cut through the static ' there's plenty. Also the bridge in the last can be taken in the same context "part of me that wants to see you burn with the same flame..." while you can interpret itas the guy having dark thoughts of seeing her go through same agony , I interpreted it as a desperation on the guys part to have the same passion for him as he has for her. For her to reciprocate his feeling for her to truly understand when she hits the same realisation he had for a long time. As for what I personally believe this song is : this song is the representation of you looking at the world from your balcony on a chilly or rainy day when the dusk has already set in and nightime is approaching, while you stand there contemplating what you think 'genuineness ' is what does it loss do to you with your only comfort of either a warm tea , a harsh drink or a lethal cigarette. I am the 'tea' person as I don't smoke or drink. What's the point of being profound if you intentionally harm yourself with smoke and alcohol ?😂
