​​@@masoomchokro7472 The alveoli have got a thin film of water on their inner surface and the water molecules on the surface of the film experience a net inward pull due to unbalanced forces tending to acquire the shape of a sphere like rain drops, if allowed to do so the water film will try to have the least surface area (sphere) & will pull the inner surface of the alveoli from all directions tending to collapse it that's where a surfactant comes to rescue lowers the surface tension therefore lowering the tendency of the water film to collapse the alveoli
