It sounds a little strange I know but you are experiencing what the first 20 years of surfers felt. We were the outsiders to all the people who didn't surf. Stay strong, grow, keep your heart open and keep surfing.

I absolutely love your video. Yeah - stay at home. explore those hidden spots and be a pioneer in China surf. We all know that one day it will be a huge thing and you are clearly into something. And the cool thing is - you have everything there. You have board making skills, you have the ocean and now - people are exploring new hobbies. And that family connection. Your mom and dad are awesome. Can't wait the next video!

Damn this video is really cool! Good editing, music, i can feel the vibe from south of china. Funny enough I learn how to surf in China (I am from Colombia where we do have some surf scene too), I've been here for 7 years. Learn to surf in Houhai, once i did small waves moved to bigger ones in Haitang and Riyue bay. I guess you know about those places in Hainan. Because of covid I explore Hainan and the south so much, i really loved the food, the vibe, the friendly people. I live in SH which is also great but a big city sometimes don't feel like home to me. Love to see your mom supporting you, for me will be a dream to take my mom to my adventures too! What can be a better travel partner?!

Cool vid. I grew up surfing on Ventura, CA and moved to Oregon in 2012. I didn’t surf more than twice the whole time I was there. Mainly skated all the amazing skateparks and focused on playing concerts. How wet eh pandemic made my wife and I really miss the ocean and we decided to move to her country the Philippines. In August I will finally be living in a place with great waves (Siargao island) after not surfing for almost 20 years. I miss the connection I had w the ocean as a kid and am so stoked it’s about to come full circle. Surfing is a special thing that connects you to the earth. Don’t give up! Maybe we can surf together someday at Cloud 9 in Siargao. Hang loose my friend!!!

@@BertoBoyd Guy’s name is Allois. Don’t remember his last name. Brazilian dude. I used to work with him on Oahu. He was the chef at Foo’s backpacker’s resort on the North Shore, run by Mark Foo’s sister. He discovered the wave from an old National Geographic sitting in a dentist’s office. He flew down there a while later and the wave was even better than the photo. Eventually he moved there and started the camp. Got married and had a kid. Last I heard he still lives there. Who says dreams don’t come true? A testimonial of follow your heart and good things happen.

I've just come back from spending 8 months in Sanya, Hainan. I managed to get up to Houhai a couple of times and rented some Soft tops. Couldn't get a rented hardboard. The waves were ok tbh, bit busy tho. I hear Riyue Bay is the best place to go, but didn't make it up that far. I spent a couple of weeks in Lingshui, which had waves but couldn't find any board rental. 👍
