Dude.. way to go! Don't give up! The flat bottom of the board is going to be inherently unstable once it gets up on the plane.. you could try attaching a small rib or two along the length on the bottom.. basically without a v shaped hull or some kind of linear feature for it to track with, it's gonna walk around like that.. but that also adds to the fun, right? 😉👍

@@paulodeoliveira3368 that's a pretty dick way of saying that it costs a lot more money than you'd think to take something like this and make it into a commercial product. so the middle fin is pretty important, otherwise its way easier to catch an edge and flip, and that could be an issue, because the other thing that would help the speed would be standing a bit more forward on the board so it sits flatter in the water. it might be slightly less stable, but you'll need way less power to go fast

Electronics and wiring after assembling can be sprayed with clear lacquer spray. Curcuit boards especially, but all over, wiring connecters, even tight seams and screws in holes, can be protected from moisture. It's another layer, that doesnt get thick enough to cause overheating. Great board!

This thing looks so much fun! I want one also! About the waterproofing, you will need a proper gasket to achieve it! If possible, you can redesign the box part with a channel for an o-ring that is compressed by the lid. You can embed the acrylic in the lid to retain the transparent look while having a better fit. And as a last tip, you should really check if the box is watertight before assembling it, 3D printed items are quite often water permeable. Good and I wish you a successful party 3!
@NetSoma4 жыл бұрын
motors heat up, expand air in motor box, air escapes motor box, air cools down and creates a vacuum in motor box. sucks in any water surrounding it where it is not air tight. You need a positive pressure inside the motorbox somehow. keeps the water out.
@andrewnevermind49024 жыл бұрын
Great point.
@cosimodomenicomancarella82294 жыл бұрын
Plus what is very very visible,it's the amount of spray that motors and props produce. I think water gets in from the top not the bottom of the boxes. An aluminium complete sealed box, seated lower then the water line could solve the problem. It could desperd extra heat ,plus both props working both under water line would have better thrust,since moving hi flow water into water produces way more opposite thrust
@ben1507854 жыл бұрын
With this, you could use a semi inflated balloon connected to the sealed box, the balloon can inflate and deflate and still keep water tight

@jfratis90814 жыл бұрын
Nicely done. I'm a former surfboard shaper living on the north shore of Oahu. Shape of the board is everything. I don't mind your externally mounted hardware because all of the professional jet boards I see compromise the overall shape of the board by trying to hide it internally. Turning is key. A lot of videos only show the craft going straight and at full speed. The board needs to be able to turn and be fun to ride even at slower speeds. Once you get it ironed out then move to a solid fiberglass board with an even better shape. keep pushing.

Great! Looks awesome! For waterproofing the box, rubber is your friend. glue some sheets(neoprene) around the edges of the lid so when you close it the rubber gets squeezed between the lid and the box. That should almost guarantee a waterproof container or you could design the edges to have a ''tongue and groove'' system, that also keeps most of the water out. if you combine those 2 its should be impenetrable..

First off, what a fantastic idea. As for your leakage problem you might try some silicone caulk. Just coat any surface you don't want it to stick to with a light grease and it should make a nice sealing surface. You might also want to check and see if the hydro jet assembly has O ring seals around the drive shaft. If not you can 3D print a new one that includes a space for O rings and an end cap that you can remove in case you need to replace the O rings in the future as they do wear out over time. A little silicon grease on the drive shaft and they should move pretty freely and seal nicely too. Great stuff man, I love the channel so far. Keep it up!

Nice result. I like to be very thoughtful when waterproofing. A technique you can use is adding positive pressure also you could use the water build up as the switch. This is a band aid option that would still make sense as a backup when your FINAL setup is going. Another thing you could try is a substance that will make expansion when in contact with moisture. Good luck. 1 more idea. Before going on the water test box with negative pressure or positive but be very careful. After seal box and dry add more sealant and then add vacuum ;)

First off dude buy a pelican box for your electronics, put the esc’s in it and run longer phase wires to the motors . You can still water cool the esc’s with thru hull fittings and silicone tubing . The water does not hurt the brushless motors those Turnigy motors are junk. I hope your impellers hold up longer than mine did. I bought 2 drives from Mark when the first impeller broke mark replaced it. Last week both of the impellers broke. I’m 230 lbs and the board and batteries kick total weight up to 280/290lbs so it’s too much load on all. The plastic parts. You may get longer life but they will break. Good luck with follow up from mark. I can’t get a reply from him so the $2000 I spent on this project is wasted without the manufacturer fixing this design flaw. I’ll be posting a video on my channel of the damage to my youngster jet pumps. I recommend MHZ pumps I have several and none have failed like marks and they always respond.

Use that flex shot, flex tape or get a can of flex seal and put a couple of layers on the inside of the box to make it be water proof. Oh yeah, use lexan to build both boxes(battery housing and electric housing) and then use clamps and seals to make the lid water proof. For the controller take it apart and use flex seal to make it water proof. Or you can use sliacone to make every thing water proof. But remember if you drill a hole or put a screw or bolt in make sure you seal up around them. You seem like a smart guy and this is the first video I've watched of yours. I hope some of this helps ya out. I've had to make alot of stuff water proof.
