Surfing Off Limits Mexican Wave

We were stuck in La Cruz Marina for a couple of months doing lots of work on our boat, we changed the impellers, resealed the engine room hatches and after all that we finally went to anchor at Punta De Mita. At Punta De Mita we surfed two times a day for a week, it was so fun. We left Punta De Mita at six o'clock in the evening and did an overnight passage to Isla Maria Cleofas (which is off limits, Navy boats patrol the island and if you are caught they will kick you out) where we scored some awesome waves. We anchored a short dinghy ride distance from the surf break, Hammerhead. Before we went in we had a look around with the drone to see if there were any sketchy rocks (sorry for the crappy drone footage, our brand new micro SD card didn't work properly). We put our ‪@FCS_Surf‬ fins into our brand new ‪@PyzelSurfboardsInternational‬ surfboards and waxed them up. We paddled out and the waves were huge, the speed generated from dropping down the face was amazing. After the surf we wanted to get the anchor up and leave before the wind picked up but it was snagged. We were a bit scared to dive down to the anchor because the water was pretty murky and it was pretty deep, but eventually Nalu found where it was snagged and unsnagged it. We left Isla Maria Cleofas and headed for La Paz. It was an epic adventure which we will remember forever.

Give em a break. Having been surfing around the world for 45 years there are no more secret spots. If you live near their you already know of these spots and if you don't your not going to jump in your car and drive over this afternoon. Great job guys, love the content but you definitely need to post more than once a month.

We 100% agree, that revealing locations and names of secret spots is not cool and should not be done. In this case, though, you can all relax: this spot is far from being secret!!! Have you looked at any surf guide books lately? Well, this spot is in there...and on surf guide websites, too. Anything but a secret, just a pain in the neck to get there and to safely anchor a yacht.

Mate, don't know under which rock you've been living, but this spot is in every surf guide book and on every Mexican spot guide website. It just doesn't get surfed very much, as it is hard to get to. Even if you can get there you need to get lucky that the Mexican navy doesn't chase you away. We got lucky...

It’s not about spots being “secret”. It’s about having respect and not giving out spot names while showing video of it. That’s above and beyond any surf guide info. The proper etiquette would be to just say you’re in Mexico or an island off Mexico. You’re super privileged to be able to experience these things. Please just respect these places and not name names.
