Surfing San Diego River Channel | Weird Waves | December 14th 2019

This novelty wave in San Diego only breaks when conditions line up and there is a pumping swell. Growing up here I've only seen it break 4 times in my life (27 years).
But when it does come together you can get some incredible grinding barrels. Surfing this wave is such a different feeling from other waves because you move so fast and the rocks blowing by on your left make it seem faster than it really is. Just don't let it pitch you onto the rocks!
