SURFING VISIONS

2 жыл бұрын

So i am not sure how it happens but at this time we had three locations to document over a 5 day period. The Gold Coast/Kirra (Saturday/Sunday Part 1) then the Bombing Low moved down south east towards Sydney for a Cape Solander shoot on the Monday. Then we were to fly out to WA for the Right that night. (the swell in WA got downgraded so we called off the trip to WA and decided to stay in Sydney). Cape Solander, Gweagal Country looked good for 3 days hence we figured to staying local. Monday was meant to be building and the Tuesday was going the biggest & best, but really Monday was the day! And here’s the proof. ENJOY

I live in Albany, Western Australia, about an hour's drive from the spot that skis put in to get to The Right. We have had a few days of severe weather this week, but nobody expected the 10 metre swell that arrived today! The viewing platform that is 40 metres above the water at a tourist spot called the Gap, was buried in spray another 10 - 15 metres higher again! Awesome, except for howling 100 km wind gusts and belting rain. Unfortunately, no end of the bad weather in sight so not sure if there will be any days that will be good enough for anyone who is crazy to get out to the Right whilst the swell is still 7-10 metres! Not sure, but must be massive around the corner along the Margaret River side of the coast. Just the wind and rain to deal with if Tim is keen?

Another awsome vid thanks Tim! Some real mutant beasts there! Loving the mix of slow mo and normal speed, not that i was ever one to complain about the slow mo. I did watch the 2 versions of the vid where you did a slow mo and normal speed version, and i couldn't decide which i liked! I did find myself being drawn to the slow mo. I like how your showing the best waves in both. Cheers mate!!

Of all the brakes I've heard called "suicides" this is the one that should take that name. These guys are nuts. Even if I had a bottom dive time of 2 minutes, I'd still never surf many of the Australian slabs. Like the guy said in the beginning, not worth the risk. No disrespect to the watermen here.

I got a question:how do you find these waves ? Because I’m waiting for a swell at low tide to see if there’s slabs but there’s a wave at the beach that super shallow but u need a low tide off shore 1.5m swell for a to slab well Edit:I found it!But it’s unsurfable and breaking on dry reef and it only slabs when its 3m or over

And yet you still call it OURS. Sorry , but it's on the Cronulla Sutherland side of Botany Bay. Not the Maroubra side. If you didn't have jet skies then you wouldn't paddle all the way over. You were never seen there in the 80's during east coast lows. We had to all surf Kurnell point. As it was to dangerous to surf with the old style boards.
