Hey bro. If you’re going over the wave you need to start the turn a bit lower on the wave face and try turn your head towards the beach or slightly behind you. A carve generally doesn’t turn as far behind as a cutback but you still want to finish near the pocket of the wave (the foam) 🤙🏽

SPEEEEED is the secret. Chop hops can help you launch/rotate better but speed is what gets you in the air! 🤙🏽

I got a surfskate and practiced on my snaps a lot. Yesterday there was something to ride on my fish(I got it fixed ) and I did a pretty decent snap with a nice amount of spray. not a lot it was 2ft shit waves but my best one to date! If you have a surfskate what do u practice on? Pumping, snaps carves cutbacks? My pumping improved slot from the surfskate as well also I am thinking of getting a new board. I’m 13, 5’6 and around 125 lbs. maybe something that turns rlly easy. Idk I’m just barely getting to do snaps. IMO I paddle well. Thanks!

That’s awesome bro! Stoked to hear that. I practice cutbacks, snaps, pumping all of it! I’ll make a video just on surf skates soon. I’d recommend getting a board that’s a bit bigger just so you can grow into it since you’re 13. Otherwise you’ll have to buy another one in a year if it’s too small haha. And remember FOAM is your FRIEND so get something that paddles well, because the more waves you catch the more experience you’ll get 🤙🏽

@@robbyjes awesome man! Well it depends on your ability, if you’re beginner I’d get something taller than you with extra volume. If you’re intermediate get something like 6’4 maybe with decent volume. Foam is your friend so get a board that suits your ability. No point getting a high performance shortboard if you’re not ripping yet, that’s a big mistake surfers make. Get something easy to paddle and that turns decent. Because waves = experience 🤙🏽 I’d recommend going to a shaper or any surf shop and getting some advice from someone experienced, they’ll help you out
