One of the greatest innovators in the world of surfing POV cinematography, Mikala Jones shares his journey from mounted cameras to handheld GoPros.
Made this video for Surfline's "Talk Story" series in 2018 -- Mikala went on to create some truly groundbreaking stuff using 360 cameras (and in partnership with 360 editor Robbie Crawford).
Posting this in memory of my friend Mikala, shortly after his passing in 2023 -- so heartbroken. He'll be missed by the people he touched around the world, and most of all by the family he always returned home to. RIP, legend..
