Hey, you're back ! Where are you now where there is snow? Stabilization on it was very wobbly

I'm in the Panhandle of Texas now, about 30 miles west of the TX/OK border. Being rural has put a damper on my thrift shopping, but I like the country life. It's good to hear from you, and yes, the stabilization on this camera is lacking.

@@ThriftyAV Ah yes it’s beautiful in the Panhandle been there many times. Went to my local Ollie’s but no real bargains at this location. Hope you’re doing well !

Glad to see your still around. I had the "jello compression effect" happen on a number of small cameras before. Was able to fix the majority of the 'wiggle' by incorporating a piece of Bicycle Tire rubber between the enclosure/camera and whatever it was being attached to. Is this a fix-all? NO.. but it helps. I have pretty much always maintained that Optical stabilization is better than electronic stabilization. Although I will admit that DJI & GoPro are getting pretty good with i. Being an old school SONY Fanboy of Steadyshot, I know that the main form of a 'steady shot' requires the image being cropped and teats how most manufactures deal with the feature..

I can see how a piece of rubber might provide a buffer between the vibration of the vehicle and the camera, and "jello" is a good way to describe what was happening with this cam. Sony Steadyshot is great. Personally, I'm a Panasonic fanboy, and my Lumix FZ-300 and my HC-X1000 both have 5 axis OIS. But I won't be mounting my HC-X1000 to the Gator! Sometimes I want the form factor of an action cam. I'll shop around for a deal on a DJI or GoPro.

that video was terrible, but it was always going to be if the image was jumping up and down with the vibration of the hood whilst the vehicle was still stationary. As a side note, where is the image stabilisation on the menu of this camera?
