DIt verhaal begint met de introductie van de mysterieuze Tobias, de man achter surfweer.nl en de speciale sms-alert service voor surfbare golven in de Noordzee. Midden in de Nederlandse winter verstuurt hij een sms die waarschuwt dat er goede golven op komst zijn. Deze sms zorgt voor nogal wat spanning en onrust bij veel fanatieke Nederlandse golfsurfers. Behalve voor Roy, als professioneel surfer is surfen in de winter voor hem aan de orde van de dag.
Het verhaal volgt drie surfers die allen op zoek zijn naar de perfecte golven, in een land wat verre van het perfecte surfland is. Als alle elementen voor een paar uurtjes samenkomen, moet alles wijken om even te kunnen genieten van de deining in de Noordzee. Maar dit is makkelijker gezegd dan gedaan…

'Surfweer' ('Surfing Weather') is a narrative short film produced by The Stoke Farm in collaboration with Open Rotterdam and shot in the Netherlands during wintertime.
The story starts with an introduction of mystery man Tobias, who runs surfweer.nl and a special sms-alert service for waves in the North Sea. In the middle of a stormy Dutch winter, he sends out an alert causing disruption in the lives of 2 committed Dutch surf riders. For the third person, riding waves in winter is routine business, as he is a pro surfer.
The story follows all three on their journey to find the perfect waves in a country that is far from perfect for surfing. When all elements align for a few hours, all else must be put aside. But this is easier said than done…
Will they be able to reach the waves they long for?
