I love how much information you give on these sets. Such as different types and promos. It’s annoying to find info and even more expensive to figure it out. Your content is great!

Just wanna say I really like and appreciate your content!! I like watching people open packs and complete sets but I can’t take the screaming and overreactions most creators tend to do. You seem like a really cool and chill guy and I love the nice, calm energy you bring to your videos ❤️

This was a really great video idea! I wish I had found the channel when I first got back into collecting because I leaned way to heavily on packs for a master set- but I think I’m finally finding a good pack to singles ratio now!

Amen, man. You raise a lot of good points - expensive cards are nice, but the hobby shouldn't be about chasing value. At the end of the day, it's a game - and games are meant to be enjoyed. ... Pulling that super expensive mega hit is a special kind of happiness though, can't even lie, lol I wish I could afford to drop money on a bunch of product, but I try to enjoy whatever I can get whenever I get it here and there. Sometimes, the gamble is not worth it. Buy singles. And if you can, from your LGS. Good stuff as per usual, man. Looking forward to the completed set.

I open stuff off camera a lot just to keep a little enjoyment of the hobby for myself etc etc, and man the buzz and instant regret I feel when I pull a chase card but am not recording is fun to deal with haha. It really does feel great to pull one of the big ones.

You mentioned pulling crazy stuff with one pack. On the last one I commented that my wife and I open a few booster boxes of each set. We opened 90 packs of this set and she pulled the pikachu SIR on her second pack out of a single sleeved. But then we didn’t get another SIR or a Gold in the remaining 88 packs. We did pull the Skarmory (my favorite card in the set) and the Latios though, so that was cool too.

Love seeing more of your opening videos. They are very nice and to watch (and listen!), unlike some of the megapopular Pokebloggers out there who scream for no reason at every pull. Haven't opened Surging Sparks yet (focusing on Twilight Masquerade and Paldea Evolved now) but sad to see that the bad pulls story continues. Literally opened an ETB of Twilight last week and pulled an EX and an AceSpec. Where are the IRs/FAs/SIRs?

I got the EBT, the two triple packs for the promos, and the little box that had a few packs. Out of all the 21 packs I only got 5 hits. That's a bad 1st round for me on launch day. Shrouded Fable launch day I got 15 hits from full box worth $125 at my local shop.

so basically, if u like just few cards then buy singles and be happy without spending too much money, and if u are going master it probably buy few products maybe u get lucky for chase cards and then u will still end up buying other singles u need to master set so at the end of the day if u like just 2-3 cards from set its better to buy them as singles

Definitely. If you just bought a whole master set without ripping anything, not sure it’d be as fun! But owning your favorite cards is also paramount for me as far as enjoying the hobby goes.

@@Pokelou502 yes i started collecting from 151, waiting for blooming waters to try to get som big hits from there and then try to complete it as my first master set. i had 1 year pause because i lost my happiness for it and when i come back the 151 was double the price of market price, so unfortunatly not willing to buy singles for 151 rn but will complete it as blooming waters will come.. also i want to complete all master set from SV era from base set to surging sparks, not having so much money so i have rule of 1 ETB and 1 BB per set and then just singles, but im so happy rn for what i have, i removed FOMO from pokemon and enjoying this hobby again with my girl.

Over the last year or so have you been collecting older sets while working on the current sets or do you tend to focus on just doing one set at a time? I know you were doing Lorcana for a while but I was just curious what you do with the 1-2 months between sets and if you are actively looking at prices for other sets and actively acquiring. Love the content as always!

Pretty sure the pokemon center promo you have is going for way more than $10! I think it’ll pay for a fat chunk of the ETB to be honest

Probably a cost effective way to gain some bulk and build out the Master set is doing exactly what you do, buying one of each product and then after all that's been ripped, fill in with the Singles. Afterwards, sell the bulk to a Card Store. I think most places will pay $20-$35 per filled up ETB of Bulk. Maybe less though.

I believe bulk rates by me, when they even buy bulk, is closer to around $5-8 per etb case (I think those hold about 1000 cards) but absolutely still a valid way to turn bulk into cool hits!

Would you ever do a rerun of the master series but grading the cards for full 10’s? I totally understand it’s a wild ask especially since your a more down to earth channel without crazy time and resources at your disposal but it would 100% be a crazy goal for somewhere in the future.

Just check your local stores for when they restock cards! Here Walmarts do Thursdays and targets usually do Wednesdays. That and local card shops would be a good bet, or monitoring preorders online!

I just use ultra pro penny sleeves most of the time! Vault x sleeves are like 1mm shorter than ultra pro penny sleeves, so sometimes if a binder sleeve is tight those work better. But most always ultra pro penny!

I don’t know anything about physical cards. I haven’t collected them since I was a child and the first set came out. Why are you collecting two of each in the first few pages of this book?

There is a normal version of any card with a basic rarity of common, uncommon, or holo rare. Then there is a “reverse holo” where the art itself is not holo, but all the rest of the card is. Check out and opening and you’ll be able to see!
