I replicated the entire process. Successfully installed and configured suricata. The engine gets started but it is not generating any alerts. Also the fast log file is empty. Appreciate resolving!

I've followed all the steps. I am currently using Ubuntu on Virtualbox. My scan query displays completely different results as well as the fast.log does not contain any ip addresses.
