Surprise! A 2x10" sounds more like a 1x12" than a 1x10"?! Mutiny 210V vs Reformer 112

Alex and Lewie explore how the Mutiny can be a vital addition to your current rig:
The Reformer 112 is loaded with a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback and they compare and pair it with Mutiny's fitted with 2x G10 Vintage, G10V with a Ten30 and Creamback with Greenback.
A solid option if you're looking to beef up your tone by adding a bit of "darkness" to compliment the bright upper mids and sparkly highs of a Reformer 112, or simply want to add an alternative AVD workhorse to your repertoire.
Let us know in the comments what you think, and thanks to Rob T for inspiring this video! We hope this answers your questions.

With the clean guitar sound, I thought both 2 x 10" cabinets sounded better and more fuller than the 1 x 12" cabinet. Thanks for the demo.

I run a Fender Frontman 10G with beringher 12inch bass together, love the six inch speaker scream from little Fender ,beringher 120watt bass amp fills in any bass gaps.

I’d love to hear all 10” cabs compared, including the horizontal 210 with a double avd!

Love your vids. Surprising how the mic differs from some of your observations in the room. 10’s with overdrive tend to sound a bit comb filtered or something to me. But I keep looking for a 10 that gets across as a 12 (for weight and size purposes). I’d be curious to hear the last version of the 10 cabs all combined. Yellows and stripes + browns and golds!

I built two 212s with Creamback and V30. I also built one 210 with their 10" cousins G10 Vintage and G10 Cream. Just doesn't sound as full. Need to work on how to EQ for a bigger sound.

Now how does the 2x10" sound compared to a 2x12"?

Could you make a Mutiny with just one 10" speaker? Would that sound good?

Why on earth don’t you guys design a hi-fi loudspeaker with an AVD in the back?? Buy a pair of KEF Q350 drivers and design a loudspeaker to fit one of the drivers with a custom AVD and make a fortune.

I have experimented with this but it seems to be impossible to tune an AVD low enough for hi-fi in a typically sized hi-fi speaker. Guitar cabs are much bigger and/or don't need to be tuned as low.

@@BarefacedAudio I wouldn’t worry about designing the AVD for bass, use bass reflex ports or passive radiators take care of that in a separated cabinet space. The money shot is with the midrange and up. The midrange is where it really matters. Danny Ritchie over at GR Research notes his favourite speakers that he designs are the X-Static that are a semi open baffle type loudspeaker where the bass is in a ported cabinet and everything above is open baffle. The speaker has an exceptional midrange sound. Perhaps the AVD can be better design concept for a loudspeaker's midrange?
Think a single 10" guitar cab won't cut through? Think again!
