yesyesyesYEEESSSSSS!! I am EXCITE! Best of luck, hope this works out for you I've been writing about as long as I can remember, and I think I've discovered my favourite genre is... no genre? Or a bunch of different genres at once? I guess at the core, a lot of my stories are fantasy or fantastical-leaning, but I love pulling together elements of several different genres into one story. Or at the very least making worlds and stories that are somewhat... atypical of whatever genres they fit into.

That's totally what I thought, too, Mattias! I love mixing genres and I've written for as long as I can remember as well, I just realized that it got really sporadic and inconsistent and confusing without a clear goal. But yes!! I'm so glad it sounds exciting! I'm really excited to start it 😬😬

ahhhht his is so fun! I second KaShay, are these scenes? Short stories? just writing until you decide this is (or isn't) for you?

We gon' have to see how it goes; I'm thinking flash fiction pieces set in my established universe I've been kind of building for a while. I hope it turns out to be a good way to go about things but, really, who even knows

Ooooh this sounds fun and adventurous. Have you decided the parameters you want for the experiment outside of the genre? Will it be short stories, scenes? I got questions lol

😂 I have questions of my own!! Right now what I'm thinking is flash fiction pieces in my established universe that I've been tinkering with for a while but we shall see! Stay tuned!!

I personally don't have a particular genre I write in. I write whatever fits my mood at the time. My last camp NANO project happened to be a thriller and it was the first time I have attempted to write one. Still working on it and it is over 40,000 words now. I doubt I will ever write in a specific genre. I am a long time blogger and am used to writing in any genre that fits my mood. Good luck finding a genre although I am not sure that it is absolutely necessary to write in just one genre. Many of these authortubers, may not mention it, but they write in many genres using different pen names for each genre. The same with the famous writers. They have multiple pen names and write in different genres. I wouldn't stress about it too much if you can't find one genre that you want to choose to stick with.

Thanks, Tess! I don't really stress about it; I'm more curious than anything. I enjoy doing these experiments to push myself and I also like mixing genres so it's also a learning curve to see which genres I like mixing. I don't think I'd tie myself to one thing, though I would like to mainly concentrate on one thing to really build that muscle more than the others. I totally get what you're saying, though!
