Surprise Catch Using Big Goldfish For Bait

We went bank fishing at the West Branch dam and Jay caught the last thing we would expect! It was a fish... but other than that we were shocked.

That was a massive Carp, When living by the river, the bigger ones would eat anything, including live bait, but in saying that, not what I expected on the line when you got hooked it. Nice job!!!

I’ve caught carp in the mouth before and they fight like hell. I only could imagine how hard it fought caught hook on the side. 😅 Congrats on a monster carp. 👍

Yeah they are illegal in some states but we are allowed to use them here in Ohio 👍

using goldfish is not legal in most states. nor should it be. that is how invasive get into a watershed
