Crappie, perch, and walleye are commonly caught by ice fishing.

Funny story. My wife and I grew up in California. We both enjoyed fishing for trout, bass and trips to Oregon to fish for spawning salmon and steelhead. My job required me to move to South Dakota for the last 4 years of my 34 year career. When we moved there, we happened to see a rack with these “ice fishing poles” and thought how grand it was that in South Dakota they made “special child poles” to encourage children to take up the sport! Boy did I feel STUPID when I was told what they were REALLY for. 😂

Back reeling comes in handy when you need to stretch out the video so more money can be made.

Would never fish like that without protective eyewear.
