The track is good, its a save on spotify, not a buy the record. Joyner's ability wasn't pushed on here, which is what would be expected on a J.Cole collab track, which makes the video feel like it falls flat. The reality is, its a solid track if you take away any expectations and context of when it was released. If this was released before Certified Lover Boy (Specifically Fuck Fans) the reaction would be a little more positive. This track was switched up a bit by J.Cole's verse, as it swerved the tone and brought the track full circle. Id say this isn't going to be top ten in the year or even top fifty tracks dropped this year in the hip-hop sphere, but its probably gonna be played a bit on the radio, gain some money for the two artists, and possibly be on the hot rap playlist for a few weeks because the beat is good, the subject matter is relatable and it has hella star power on the track. Its a solid 6.5/7 track for me.
