Hi Andy, I used to have same problem as you with a reducer from the bottom drain, I fitted an old school vortex with some brushes then pull water from that with the pump, bit messy to clean but no more blockages

Can you not use your bottom drain gravity feed properly ?. I would re design it if it's pump fed, from the 4" 😮

Hi mate my water level is too low for gravity fed unless I dig my filter down a couple of feet so I have to be pump fed. Andy 👍
