Ah the sounds of doors closing, the big roller door opening, and the smell of diesel exhaust followed by the almost pure silence when a rig goes in service.......priceless

exactly. I always hated comments about the speed at which firefighters are moving, especially when first arriving on scene. Everything is calculated to be as safe and efficient as possible.

It was not a fire call, 42 was requested for manpower after a medical call for a diabetic patient. Parents became unruly and wouldn't let the paramedics do their job. Police were coming but the aerial was closer so they came as well

People complaining about the slow response they still got out quick. Its not TV, if you run around like a mad man in real life mistakes get made. You can hear someone say now we get to see the big truck go out and there's an empty Bay. The ladder is probably second due as it look like the pumper has already responded.

Honestly...two minutes and out the door...that's pretty good..anyways...paid or not..it's better to go slow and deliberate and not miss a thing..then rush and miss something critical...seconds saved at the station will be lost at the scene trust me..I've had it happen..seconds spent at the station making sure your set on scene can easily be made up. That is all.

It's interesting they took the ladder truck and left the others, also they didn't put on their heavy boots. I'd guess they were called as support for a difficult rescue where they needed the ladder. Even so, whatever the call, it takes them time to get their gear on and load up. I think they did well.
@Manzo98_
@Manzo98_ 8 жыл бұрын
+Ernest Bywater what are you talking about? the "heavy boots" are connected to the pants of the fire turnouts. if you look you could see their station boots on the floor
@ernestbywater411
@ernestbywater411 8 жыл бұрын
+eddie manzo You guys must Have some weird suppliers if the boots are connected to the pants. Down here the boots are supplied separate to the pants and coat. Often they will set the pants up over the boots to slip both on at once, but they'll also frequently not put the heavy duty boots on if the call doesn't justify the need. Then they'll go with the standard boots.
@joshguard9834
@joshguard9834 8 жыл бұрын
We only have Structural boots, which are set in the bunker pants. If the call may not justify foot protection, why would we put on bunker pants?

@firehydrant315
@firehydrant315 3 жыл бұрын
Seemed like they were not in much of a hurry. Gear on wrong truck is common in stations that have "cross staffing" where one crew can respond to different calls with more than one truck. This looks as if it could be a truck company that has a rescue for car accidents (hence the reflective vest), and medical calls and an ladder for fire response.

Most firefighters go to schools and say that there flat is 1 minute or even less and to save some times your soposed to get most of your turnout gear in the truck and not to stick up for my family but my sister's husband is a firefighter for Oldenburg Indiana but he learned pretty quick to put your jacket on your seat that have your turnout pants and boots in front of the door of the truck and have his nomax hood by his boots and have his helmet in his locker
