Whether you get the Nest connected up or not, no shame in a low tech thermostat. We're replacing our HVAC but chose not to go with a high tech, networked, smart-home thermostat because we're concerned about privacy (The internet-of-things' track record for security for who has access to our data about when we're at home or not for the lifetime of a thermostat (20 years?) isn't something confidence inspiring). We can still schedule temperature changes for energy efficiency, we just need to be home to set the schedule, which we're fine with. Our gas furnace is old enough we've been advised that getting parts for repair is going to get difficult soon (even aside from current supply chain disruption), so we're going more modern non-combustion with an electric air-source cold-climate heat pump system that still provides 100%of its rated heat down to -15°C, and 80% to -25°C, and air conditioning as well, of course. Also at 15:11 Compliments on the numbers! I have yet to make mine come out that well after hours of trying. Fingers crossed that the channel control issue gets sorted out soon. Edited to add: Yay! You got it back!

Been watching for a long while, can't believe it's that time if year again. Saw the Inst post bout channel &the change on YT. Hope the so & so's didn't cause any problems. Can't remember if you've had a VPN spon, hope not 😁. Making the advent calendar yourself is even more special and a bought one next year will not mean the same to Steph. As for the box, when our children got to that age and "stockings" were a joke, we did a little hamper in a Xmasy box instead. They would all open the stuff together before presents and maybe breakfast. Even now they have moved out, we still do it and they are only opened when they are here, 20 years+ gone by, kinda their tradition now, started with grandchildren too, they get their own here

For Vlogmas you have to get a Virtual Reality headset as a present and then film Stef playing games on it. It would be hilarious! I have the Oculus Quest 2 and it’s great because it is a stand alone, so you don’t need a computer. There is nothing funnier than watching someone play in virtual reality😀
